I'm going to start digging into your methods for designing a plane. Been thinking of making some small plank gliders to start. I ordered up a 40w laser to help cultivate the passion for creating. Thanks again for sharing!

I need to get back on this and finish it so I can share the files. glad its helpful though. I have recently started a new design that will be a 3D plane. Will share more once I've got more to share though.

So I finished up the design on this other than landing gear and currently having a buddy laser cut a short kit for me. I'm planning to frame in up starting in November as I will most likely be having shoulder surgery so will need something to keep me occupied while I'm out of work.

Here is the 3D model of the structure. The wings will get traditional style sheeting not shown here to see the structure.

Difficult to explain.
If I may suggest a small change to the firewall. Make the firewall from 2 layers of 3mm plywood. add tabs to the inner firewall and the second firewall plate no tabs. Add tab holes to the fuselage for first firewall 3mm in. This locks the firewall into the fuselage. If I am not clear let me know and I will make a sketch.

I need to bug my uncle about some of his plane designs and post here. He used to spend hours on autocad designing.

You explained it will. Makes sense. It will be getting tri-stock on the back side so should be plenty strong but certainly something could update for V2
