Got a little more work done on Pedros airplane. Had to come up with a way to stiffen the can mounts. I opted to use some tri stock. Works out well!! Mounts are installed with thin ca, but will be going over the joints with some laminating/finishing resin tonite after work. I can say this...... The mounts are in, and do not flex. So, that is a huge plus!!



I thought I had misplaced my medium glue, but I found it right where I left it.

Got a few more hours on this airplane, before I throw it onto Pedros's porch.



Things on the list.....



Cut cowl for exhaust stinger

Cut recess in lower fuse for other stinger

Epoxy can mounts

Mount batteries at desired CG location

Drill backplate, spinner has already been cut to fit the Falcon 29x9 prop

Open up the bottom side for louver plates and iron open the louvers.

Had to cut out one of the prexisting pipe mounts just so that 1 of the TD 110s wouldnt rub thru. Not a huge deal, tho. There are lower access vents in the fuse, which made installing the 70mm can mounts a breeze. I forgot.. I made a choke linkage. Generally, I use a pull rod for the linkage that runs straight up and down. This one is a bit straighter forward. As long as it works is what Im after. And it does!



Cowl is mounted, pipes installed, batteries secured. Another 2 hr tonite, and it should be ready for a delivery to Pedro.

Corvus #1 is done. Delivering to Pedro tomorrow, if he's cool with it. Final CG check with a 29x9 prop landed me slightly nose heavy to right on. Pix coming!

Awesome Bunky, How did the back plate spacing come out with the plywood mount?

Really close. Closer than I like on this one. But mine is much better suited. Yes, I drilled my firewall and mounted my engine. I have a solid 1/8" gap. Less than 1/8" on Pedro's... I fear with the center bolt spinner, when you tighten down on it, it flexes the backplate back towards the cowl and a rub may happen. An aluminum backplate 6 bolt spinner will not do that. [MENTION=417]Cap232driver[/MENTION] needs to get his ass in gear on my Corvus spinner! LOL!!!

I'm planning on fiberglassing the corners of my motor box also on the PAU Extra 300 I'm assembling. I was wondering was weight of cloth you used. I have .58 to 3 oz cloth. I was thinking of using 2 or 3 oz. Is just doing the corners enough, or should I do the whole motor box? Thanks in advance.

In the last pic, you'll see some FG cloth on the upper outside corners. I did that for a little reason. With the DA 120 on the front, and the possibility of it shaking, I need all the reinforcement I can get. I'll be doing this as well to my new 108" Corvus, and incorporating it on my EG 108" 330SC.
