I had one of those senior sportsters, yellow and black. HUGE upgrade with the modern canopy!!! Mine went through a few engines, huge Saito gasser, 52cc side carb thing, and finally ended up with some oddball 50ish cc twin on the nose. We called it the 3DGB because it would hover quite nicely but ailerons were not in prop wash. VERY VERY good flying plane!!!



That would be sweet with a small Saito Radial or one of the new small twins like a DLE40 or 60!!!



Does your new version have flaps? That would be the only thing to make it better, not that it's hard to land it's just fun to play with flaps.



Oops, NVM, I looked closer at the pics. Could modify for flaps / full ailerons though!!

I have the old yellow and black one from several years ago that was given to me. I've never flown it, it's just hanging on the wall.

Here are some underneath shots. Notice the oleo shock gear and alloy hub wheels.



Also notice the modern aerobatic type phenolic control horns, ball links, and hardware.

Pull pull so no more push pull as gee bee's usually need weight.

The cowl ring has CNC cooling holes around the air exits.

Firewall stamped for a da 85.

Weight as it sets NO engine or rx packs is 14 LBS!



Definitely a modernized version of the older arf.

VERY nice wing improvements! The wing on my old one had a crappy aluminum tube and you had to put the wing on as one piece with screws in the bottom.....glow turd style. My old one was also slightly smaller wingspan.

That's sharp Chad, everyone loves to see a Gee Bee! Those landings are tough though!
