Airplane Cradles in the Shop, What works, what doesn't?

Not sure if this has been posted yet. This is my absolute favorite stand. Very stable and easy to put your plane upside down and on it's side to work on and the casters are great for moving it around. It's a little pricey but well worth the money. http://rcairplanestands.com/2.html

How did you get or come up with your user name?

Mine came from when I first started flying I had Thumbs In Training as the saying under my username on another forum. A fellow member pointed out to me the acronym for it was T.I.T so I decided to roll with it. The saying is just as true today as the day I started flying, my thumbs are...

Amount of space between cowl and carb

You guys think this would work for a screen? It may only be legal in Washington and Colorado though hehe. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Pack-4-x-4-25-Micron-True-Ultra-Fine-Stainless-Steel-Mesh-Oil-Screen-/351135211127

Amount of space between cowl and carb

It certainty won't hurt anything to cut an opening to get more air to the intake. I plan on putting a screen over the opening to keep crap from being sucked into the carb. Any suggestions on a what to use for a screen?

Amount of space between cowl and carb

I'm getting what seems to be an excessive amount of fuel dripping onto the cowl, almost like it's choked a little but the choke is completely open. Also not getting great gas mileage. I've pulled the carb apart and checked to make sure diaphragm is work as it should and the reed valves are...

Amount of space between cowl and carb

Never mind I found the answer on DA website. I should have 1.5" between carb and cowl. Guess I'll be making an opening under the intake. Not sure why I didn't think of looking there first.

Amount of space between cowl and carb

I'm wondering how much space there should be between the cowl and carb? I only have 3/4" between the cowl and carb and I'm beginning to think I'm not getting enough air to the carb.

let us talk about fuel tank clunks....

I use a fiji water bottle with PSP cap and a 3 line setup. I use a felt clunk in the tank and I also put a felt clunk in my filling can to act as a filter to the gas I put in the plane. I use viton in the tank and tygon for over flow and from cap to carb. I've never had any issues, but I've only...

    RC Plane stand

Not sure if I should post this here or down in field equipment, moderators feel free to move to appropriate place. I just bought a stand from http://rcairplanestands.com/1.html and put it together last night. It's a great stand for storing your plane on, very high quality. I got the one with...

+1. I wish my HOA would let me keep a trailer on the side of my driveway.

    Wing Bags

I'll third this. I love my Pilot wing bag and the price that came with it.:greedy_dollars: I got mine from Chief as well. I came from using a wing tote bag and will never look back. The straps on the Pilot bag are not as long as the wing tote bag, I can actually carry the Pilot bag on my...

    Greetings

Was finally able to get the name of this new place. I'm fairly new to flying, only been on the sticks for 2.5 years, so I tend to read more than post. I have received help on "other forums" when I need it and it's been a great asset to my learning about this great hobby and have no doubt I will...
