ES Composites Pipe ES35G: $205 + 12 S&H, 3.88oz, 2"DIA, 23.5"TE-LE Length - ES Comp recommends 27-28" header length from face of piston to first baffle. Although great results with full length header compared to cutting it (25mm drop). Seems to be the peoples choice based on how quite they are...

Good to know, Thanks! Enterprise: Is your Small Pro Flow Can a front or rear dump? I can never remember the differences between the two. PM me what you want for it. I like the idea of a canister for reducing the sound without compromising power loss, and maybe lasting a while longer with...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

Great!! Let me know how it goes! If you get a change post what you have in it. Maybe a pic under the hatch?

Leading Edge Measure from the side of the fuselage where the wing root (where the wing meets the fuse) is at the leading edge, then measure towards the wing tube. The CG should end up 1" in front of the wing tube is what I read. So in other words it should balance out on the forward side of the...

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Copper RTV seems like a cheap, readily available method. DNA is a pretty mild alcohol IMO, MEK works the best... but is nasty stuff. Brake clean is 50% Acetone, but also has Toluene which is also pretty nasty stuff... so wear gloves. Acetone is my fav, It is the best cleaner for aluminum, I...

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Maybe try cleaning the bolt threads and the cylinder threads really good with brake cleaner or something equivalent? I didn't use any locktite, just nordlock washers. I am planning on going to the field with my new cowling this evening, played around with baffling a bit, we'll see how it holds...

Just saw this! Super bummer! make sure to post this in the DLE35RA Muffler Bolts thread too, with what you tried and what happened. Might help some folks in the future.

Yup Good info!! It seems more user friendly and economical to just go with the Jtec Pitts Muffler. At my field I tend to get bird watchers trickling through.... So I hate to be that guy. I also don't want to cough up the extra dough. Complicated, Noise Reduction, & Performance vs Simplicity &...

I concur. have to buy the header & pipe for no less than $250, vs the Jtec Pitts for $70.... I haven't heard of anyone using a Plane Blender 3D canister either. From what I have read, people would rather save weight and stick with the Pitts Muff. The ES pipe is light, but once you add the...

vegasking: Since you have both... what is the noise reduction in comparison, and any noticeable performance loss/gain between the two?

Build question - DA 35 to 71 slick

I have a 71" slick with a DLE-35RA, Pull-Pull, A123 Battery (1100IGN, 2300RX) under the turtle deck, Throttle servo as far back as I could put it, One elevator servo, Dual Miracle Switch up front with fuel dot., and a 16oz fortitude fuel tank just in front of the tube (basically touching). When...

Anybody running anything other than a JTec Pitts on the DA-35? I've seen video's of piped planes, and like the noise reduction. But it seems like everyone is going with the JTec Pitts... My DLE35RA is pretty loud with the stock muffler. I'm guessing that is because it just spits the exhaust out...

Ha! Well you know how home depot calls their gift cards "Man Cards"... once you run out of money... you have to give it up HA! maybe it's that phycology they are after anyways?

They may not look the best, but they are very practical!! I have a Snugtop Hi-liner on my F150 supercab with a 6.5' bed. Keeps your planes safe, dry, and they wont blow out of the back while cruising down the hwy. You could even put a piece of plywood over the bed rails and make a "two/split"...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

I was having a hard time with this myself. Still trying to figure out the best method. It really depends on what exhaust you are running and how you position the choke arm on the carb. I like the top photo personally, but might run a phenolic board instead of the aluminum. I still haven't...

Has anyone ever used a 3s A123 with a voltage regulator to 7.4v? Seems like it would be a way to use HV for an A123 pack.

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Much better! I would even consider another 1/4" on either side of the exhaust pipes (outboard sides). It would even make it easier to take the clamps off the exhaust tubes, and get them away from the ign lead.

RedwingRC Pin and Flag with Hidden Dual Battery Redundancy Switch!

I like this idea. I could essentially make a redundant Rx setup with this, and add an RCEXEL Optio Kill Switch w/IBEC to get rid of the extra battery just for the IGN. It seems to me that a redundant LiPo setup for HV makes more sense than a redundant A123 due to their know reliability under...
