    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Reamed out the X-Cub brackets to fit a 6-32 bolt. The gear legs fit this bolt no problem, they probably left them small (M3) for alignment ease, but the clunky clunk clunk was driving me crazy. It fits and moves freely. Much nicer.

What you see in the picture is a laser cut hole in the balsa I removed the covering from. so just a little covering patch.

Here is why the wing strut blind nuts fail in the wing. Mine sheared. And there appears to be about zero glue.

Thanks! YES. Black Bear, Porcupine, and even Bald Eagle full talon attack at a plane. Black Bear and Porkies are usually just doing their own thing and don't care about you or your plane. I've taken off and landed with them next to my runway strip and I've just seen them watch as it goes past...

NEW VIDEO ALERT! Kept it under five minutes, enjoy! After reviewing the slow motion portion (2:28) of my wing encounter with the ground, I may have to do some exploratory surgery.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

My flying buddy has a tiny e-flite balsa ARF of this plane. There was a full scale one at the airport the other day a couple club members were talking about. I think I know two guys that have their full scale cubs in the military scheme. I really like the recognition strips on the empennage and...

I’ve compressed 35 min into 5:45min.... still working on getting under 5min. Man it’s a lot of work/time.

I was planning on using the ProModeler DS305CLHV servos. Coreless, digital, HV, plenty of torque and fast. Digital coreless servos are smooth and less prone to vibration issues. Which was what I was looking for. So when. Brushless digital servos came up for sale I jumped on them.

From the second post in this forum I listed everything I used: Savox 2274 + 2270 rudder (used) ProModeler DS305CLHV on the throttle. If I didn’t buy used I would have used cheaper servos. But they are wicked awesome overkill. Really depends on your flying style.

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Ive been flying the same fuel on another plane so cant be that. I can use the process of elimination by what I know. Hot under the canopy, engine runs great, Exh cut outs are the same as with other planes with this setup, fuel is OK, a little bit of fluff in the carb screen - but not alarming...

It's so random, I dont think I'd be able to notice a difference at all. My engine should be getting rich as it breaks in. So after 2 gallons of fuel it's starting to do this. hmmmmm Time to take stuff apart, check wires, ect. First time it died was a second flight back to back and one min into...

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

I’m more worried about water damage. I wonder if it can be printed on plastic sign material. Aluminum prints may also be an idea. I think they are clear coated. I like the plastic idea though

Never done that before. Interesting. How would a guy make this while resisting fuel/heat?

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

I’ll take any advice I can get. I’m with you on the ignition. Seeing that it’s happened after multiple flights, leads me to believe some sort of heat issue, but not carb related. Under the canopy was hot, there is a 2” hole for the carb is the only way hot air can enter. Ignition is on the motor...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

After pondering why my engine deadsticked, having a little tuning troubles, I decided to clean the carb. Other than a little bit of junk in the screen , a little reside from a needle - it seemed fin to me. Slapped it back together and went back to basics. GP-76 screws are both set at 1.75 turns...

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

I'll have to download it and see how complex his designs are. I just recently started following him on FB, man he has a lot to share! edit: just did. His design is 3D so it's more of a static design 360 degree. But may still work. Very Cool! I think this is 1/6.3 scale, so may not work. I...
