    Built the left side first. The instructions say to build the rear first, then attach it to the front side piece. I pinned the side piece down, and built the rear off of it. Made more sense to me.

    Pulled the top off the GF40 and cleaned all the carbon off the valves and head. The piston came clean with a wipe or two. Adjusted the valves to .05 gap. Cylinder walls look good as well. Cleaned the carb to boot.

    Looked at the valves and they are good. Looks like one is a little tight and needs gapped. The jam nut on the other probably needs replaced as well.     Will do. I'll give it a good once over. I think I'm going to order an intake isolator and gaskets as they look a little older and discolored. Compression seems really really good.

    OS GF40 showed up. Looks like a good engine. It is heavier than my DLE 30, so the heavier tailwheel my not be a bad thing. I'm also going to put the elevator servo in the tail, which will help out some.
