Scale 18% De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver by MR Aerodesign

I'm sure Wade will fill you in about the laser cutting. Many years ago I bought a complete set of steel fittings for the Nelitz Cub that dhal22 is completing. I'm fairly certain these were cut with water jet.

What are you using for the tapes? Polytac? Per the video brush Polybrush down then set the tape in the wet bed and stipple the Polybrush up into the tape with the brush. Never tried Polytac but it works for you well then good.

Assembled the flaps and ailerons on both wings. Going flying this morning so the paint will get another day to cure before the wing walk is painted on. I think the corrugations were worth the effort now that it is painted, I was having doubts last week!

I think my subject pant scheme is how it came out of the factory. Here's the plane I modeled in the quarter scale version.

My subject full scale doesn't have the swooshes on the tips. The full scale wings tips had stress cracks and owner elected not to add the swooshes after repairing and painting the white color. His plane was painted with Imron and I would image would be north of $200 for the red paint. I had...

Here's the parts after the non sanding sealer was applied. This takes 20 minutes or so the cure before the color is applied. In my case I'm using white acrylic enamel paint with hardener. I had quite a few sand throughs that's why elected to use the sealer. I gave a good base and one coat...

Yes that is the problem with the Stits system and the main reason I used Stewards System on the Champ. My wife was a little disappointed when see saw the Dexter Morgan cut room going up. I had it up for a couple of weeks when I painted the Super Cub Fuselage.

Have everything sanded and the Dexter Morgan cut room just about set up, just a little more Tuck Tape! Should put the color to the wings tomorrow morning. Laying down a coat of Omni MP231 white non sanding sealer first, then the white color.

Primed the wings and tips yesterday, a little more sanding and they will be ready for color.

I deemed the control surfaces good enough for guide coat today. Thinking I might prime the wings and tips on Sunday and possibly paint next week. Had to come with a method to hold the parts so they can be turned during the color coat. I think I'm good now. The corrugations are a PIA!
