The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

@Decal Dennis Picked up a Fat Shark FPV system today. We just had to try it out. First we mounted the camera on my Night Vapor. But the Vapor didn't have enough horse power to stay aloft. So we mounted the camera to my Crack Yak. Crack Yak + FPV = Motion Sickness. :p

How much expo for maiden flight

My advice, find a really good pilot you trust. Someone that has experience flying that type/size of plane. Have them maiden it for you. Let them trim it out and check the CG. Once they have it dialed in, give it a shot with them standing at your shoulder. Several times I've taken up a new plane...

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

It's great bang for your buck in a double IPA. Not as good as Myrcenary, but less than half the price.

    Solar Powered rc flight

Pretty cool. I've often thought about the possibilities of adding solar cells to a plane to extend flight times. But not necessarily as the sole means of power.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I live an hour and 20 minutes further west of Tower than @Jetpainter does. As long as I place my order with Great Planes before noon, I always have it the next day.:D

Yes! Only took me 5 months.:p The maiden wasn't pretty. But it's all fixed up and ready for its re-maiden now.

I removed the wheel pants and went 3/4" taller on the tires and it didn't seem to help at all. @Decal Dennis has this same plane and his is the same way. I think it's just a faulty design.

    Request ideas for the site

@SleepyC @Bartman Is it possible without too much trouble to add a "New Post" button to the Classifieds just like we have on the regular forum? That would be a lot easier than having to click on each category just to see wants new.

Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to install the new gear block. The test fit looks promising.:) To be continued another night.:way_to_go:

Next I opened up a hole in the bottom of the fuse using a solder iron.

Then I started the laminating process by screwing the two separate gear together. I will take it back apart and apply some 30 minute epoxy between the two layers and screw it back together. All I had on hand was 5 minute and I didn't want to push my luck. The dry fit looks pretty good.
