    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

An auto feed setup on the X axis is most likely the next upgrad I'll do on my mill. After all the back and forth while I was cutting in the ways on the tiny lathe bed really made me want one. Here's the link to the linier scales I purchased. There's a drop down box you can choose from. So far...

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

It's a 14" travel linier scale, and though my lathe is a 7 X 14, I don't get the full 14" travel due to the chuck and tailstock tooling. I think I could have gotten away with a 12" and been fine. I'll post some pics when I get it on the machine. Took me a couple of nights to get the tiny lathe...

PM Research Mini Engine Lathe Build

Got some more work done on the lathe bed. I used a 1/16" end mill to cut the center slots. Took small cuts and many passes. Then I got the bed ways cut in. I think it turned out good so far.

The monitor showed up today. It's identical to my mill, but with an rpm input. Didn't get the scales yet, but the rpm readout works great.

Thanks! I'm looking for one that takes up minimum real estate on the carriage and cross slide. I know their out there, because my mill has a nice non intrusive one.

Phase 1 of project DRO complete. I got a cheep DRO off of ebay for the tailstock. I could have used one building the tap guides. Don't know what system I'll go with for the carriage and cross slide yet.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

My new tools showed up this day! This Maxxt bandsaw is just right for the space I have. I tested it out and it works great. I got this one because it can also be used in the vertical position. I'll build a bigger table for the vertical position. I also got a set of carbide insert tools from...
