    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

Just started repairs on my 51 slick motorbox. It isn't a beautiful repair but it only took about 15 minutes to get rdy to glue it all together. I used 15 min epoxy and it will be plenty strong.

How many years have you been in the hobby?

Don't get too frustrated... all of the big advancements in electric flying have happened in the last 6 or 7 years. I'd say you got in at just the right time value-wise ;)

I got out to fly my 51 slick yesterday for my first flying outing since I crashed my two slicks on back-to-back days on July 23 and 24th. I spent the evening on Sunday getting it all patched up and was super excited for some fun stick banging. When I got to the field my 6 yr old asked if I...

I have not flown anything since July 24th... starting to get a little anxious to get out and fly. Looks like maybe The first weekend in September will be my next chance. I have to fix my 51 slick up in the mean time to get it rdy. The 70" had the wings rip off on the July 24th outing.

So maybe a 4330 with a little higher kv would work well? Ken at subsonic planes (motrofly) does custom motor winds if you think you would benefit from a little higher than 435 for a bit more power on 6s. You would have to talk to him and get his advice/opinion on it. He may have another...

I would not recommend pull/pull on a gas setup. You will likely need the weight in the tail. I'd do push-pull.

20x8 will be a good destination prop. YMMV but mine did not turn that prop well until after break in. It will turn it nicely now but you may be happier with a 19x8 for a few gallons.

I said the same thing till it happened to me. For $12 I would put them in.

Thanks Mom! But seriously, you are right of course. I don't plan on completely killing myself with it. The nice thing is that it is usually over in around 20 minutes so I can get on about my day. I anticipate some of the soreness going down as I get a little stronger. Right now I am super...

Any of you guys ever try crossfit? I just did my second WOD. The first was on Saturday and I was so sore yesterday I could barely move. Today was not so bad but still a bit sore. I went in to the doctor last week to get a physical. I hadn't had one in about a decade and have been feeling...

Thanks... they could be better if I wasn't driving and it wasn't my phone lol ;) The pics didn't really do it justice. Those are just before the worst of it. The sky was completely blocked out by it... My ears were full of sand as well just from being out in it for a few minutes. It was crazy.

Some pics I took while driving yesterday. Storm packed a punch. Half an hour later the wind died down just enough to dump about an inch of rain in another half hour. Then it was gone. Rain was falling almost parallel to the ground. Unfortunately for me I had to exit Costco during the worst...

    78'' Extra

Sounds like a good plan. I felt my completely stock motor was pretty broken in after 2 gallons. I'm guessing the bow.man ring will be done in less than one. As for oil... I'm using cheap walmart marine oil. It is an ashless synthetic blend and has been working great for me. I plan to keep...

Mine started out pretty weak and gained a ton after break in. I'm guessing at least 20% after a bunch of run time. The pipe is still a great idea though... You guys are throwing around a larger bird than me.
