    72" Extra 330SC

I'm not sure I read the meaning in your post right Mike. Does needing up elevator trim indicate nose heavy or tail heavy? Or did you just have to push forward on the trim switch? Either way I'm glad to hear you are loving the plane.

    AeroBeez 73" (26%) Yak-54 30cc ARF Airplane

I snuck out to the field at lunch and got another test flight. I fixed the tank issue and replaced the tail wheel with a super light 1.25 one from dubro. It turns out the aerobeez wheel does not weigh much at all. It appears to be solid rubber but on closer inspection you find the tire is...

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

Gary did you try grinding a flat spot on the end of the axle prior to drilling? Either way, you would need a good bit. I think I like the way you are doing it better in either case.

    AeroBeez 73" (26%) Yak-54 30cc ARF Airplane

Well I managed to find a break in the rainy weather for a flight on this yak. It turns out my efforts to shift the weight more forward have not quite gone far enough. The plane still does not track really well but it is definitely better than it was before. It did fly well enough that I...

    AeroBeez 73" (26%) Yak-54 30cc ARF Airplane

The rudder is set up as pull/pull. You can verify the weight difference between the 30 and 35 on valleyview rc's website. Right now I dont plan to add any weight. I could move the motor forward some but I am going to try it as is tomorrow. Maybe Ill take some washers out to the field to...

    AeroBeez 73" (26%) Yak-54 30cc ARF Airplane

Fellas I was able to re-maiden this plane last weekend with my gear in it. It ended up being really tail heavy so it got just one flight where I was really glad to have it back on the ground with no damage. Gary and I determined that my servos are quite a bit heavier than his. When you pair...

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

I'm sure what you are saying is best if you want to really focus a plane on exclusively flying precisoin. What if I want to do some imac and 3d on the same plane... often in the same flight. I noticed in Scott Stoops book he recommends setting aside a certain percentage of every flight for...

    Redwing RC 76" MXS-R

I agree, very nice! I have to say... convincing videos that show the range of capability help sell airplanes. I'm really happy to see redwing (and other vendors) investing in getting their planes reviewed this way. It makes it a lot easier to hit the buy button when it becomes more of a known...

If you don't have another bit that size just use one of the bolts from the prop hub.

    Redwing RC 76" MXS-R

I have found that even with the DA/DLE drill guide I don't get them perfect unless I still use my drill press. If I hand drill through the guide there is always one hole that needs a little adjustment.

    AeroBeez 73" (26%) Yak-54 30cc ARF Airplane

Just an update... I think I might have found the right silicone pipe for the muffler. After trying three different local stores I found arubber hose and pipe dealer in the salt lake city area that sounded like he had the same stuff. He shipped me out a foot of it. I'll be able to confirm...

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

I'm looking forward to seeing some other peoples vids. I am learning a lot from the feedback I got on mine. I could already put a much better one together but I promised myself I would wait at least a week between them. I just wish I had more time to practice!

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

I am using the app every day. I bought it last year. Very nice and well worth the dollar I think I paid through google play store.

IMAC learning and support using flight videos

I'll post another video in a week or so to show my progress. Once you guys say I could get a good score I'll try sportsman. haha it might take a year! btw... I would encourage other folks to do this as well. Would anyone want to take on the roll of coach via pm? Then maybe I wouldn't have...

    Precision Flight Tutorials Episode 6!

haha... nice catch... it would be hard to complete it with only a 3/8 loop. I too thought the video was excellent and I knew what you meant :P
