    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Set the high speed for max rpms. Set the low speed for good throttle response. Start rich on the lsn needle. It will have slow sluggish throttle response. Lean it till the response is good. Check the tune on the HSN again with your tach and adjust as needed. If your idle and throttle...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Great advice Mike. I especially like the part about checking the plugs. A fouled plug will make the motor run crappy for sure and the high oil content during break in usually makes them black. Tom Josh Fassman is an excellent resource. I have a lot if respect for his engine knowledge. I...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

I think if you are close it is good enough for a maiden. Keep the first flight fairly short and check the motor temp. If it is hot you need to richen it some. I suppose having it a little fat is preferable to lean but you shouldn't be to far off either way.

Lean causes deadsticks... rich causes fouling. Yes I get nervous on a maiden of a big plane.

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

Hahaha... I'm sorry for how you feel about the company at the field... My point was that you can have the same effect as an arming switch on the plane with a switch on your transmitter. I don't see how the safety is materially different.

Can't you satisfy people just as well with a throttle cut switch on your tx?

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Great combo! I had a DLE 35 in the 70" slick a few seasons ago. It had been repaired many times and finally became a gas powered lawn dart when I snapped the wings off! It happened on the 4th of July when I was the only idiot out there flying in the heat of the day lol. You are going to...

I keep catching myself thinking about adding lights to this plane... Has anyone tried that at all?

I had a "new" one. Flew exactly the same as my v1. Don't hesitate to buy a 51 slick!

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

xlr8tion I think a pic or two of what you are dealing with is/are in order. If you are talking about the anti-rotation pins then I would just fly the plane. A little gap is fine (for flying) as long as the anti-rotation pins are secure in the holes in the fuse that receive them and the wing...

So how close are you to a maiden?

Not sure what I'm looking for... what stood out to me was how it winds up in tumbling moves without a lot of speed going into them. Pitch authority was crazy as well.
