The 4325 and 5320 are awesome motors, I'd like to add the 4330 to the discussion. Ken did a great job with this motor and I was seeing numbers in the 84-85% efficiency with a 216kv and a 20x8 PJN. He added another bearing that helps the motor take the heavy side forces we put on these motors.

    Cold Weather Flying Tips

I fly my planes down to -15F... I agree things get brittle at this temp and I do take it a little easier (not much). My EF and 3DHS planes have held up to the abuse with no added issues for 1000s of flights. Most around 10-20F in the winter. I cut my dubro skis down and take a little over a...

I love the 60" extra... I wonder if there is any plans to make the tail of the 78" extra EXP size. It would would be on the short list close to the 78" MXS and 91" Extra if it did. Joe, how do you think the tail authority compares to the 60"?

    Cold Weather Flying Tips

I cut off the round edge on the sides with aviation snips leaving the tip in place which I then used a file to form so it didn't look funky. I used pull pull cable and clamps with a spring up front found at the LHS... this keeps skis in place and many, many flights later stay put. I may put...

    Cold Weather Flying Tips

So I thought I would post some tips I have picked up in two years flying electric in the Alaskan cold. The "transmit" is super nice... although unless below -5F, I use gloves with the thumb and index fingers cut off. I work outside all winter long so my hands are acclimated to the cold. I...

I've been thinking about it and haven't ruled out the 78"MXS instead of the 91" extra. And I did love my 48" a lot and if I kill my 48" edge I will replace it with another 48" MXS. I haven't been wrecking them lately (knock on wood), but even as much as I like the edges I am sure itchin for...

I didn't... Have the 60" edge. I want to get a 91 so if I kill 60" edge it will probably get replaced with a extra. It's a great flying bird and it keeps on flyin. May have to just get the extra with new gear, but that will have to wait til early summer.
