What models in Phoenix do you use for 3D practice?

Thinking I am over phoenix. Taught my son to fly with it. The planes sure do not fly like anything I have owned. I am not saying that some don't fly realistically. Just not like how my modern 3d planes fly. You really cant scale up an airframe either, at least easily? The Slow motion...

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

I guess your not lacking for something to fly. The 74 edge looks like a hoot!

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

You can fix it! As much as crashing sucks, rebuilding can be fun. It is amazing what can be repaired.

    HazzBro's EEv2 / VVRC 40cc twin

I would think either would be fine. 3dNater is doing a scratch/kitbash check it out. http://www.3drcforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=17544&d=1381614304

    HazzBro's EEv2 / VVRC 40cc twin

Very cool! Maybe carb down? Cut the lower rail mount off and install a flat firewall. This would eliminate the lower chin and save the scale looks. Unless of course the carb must go up. Then that would complicate things a bit. Then you would have to widen the fuse at the top to allow the...

Building of the 30cc Slick 540 from Redwing RC!!!

Been reading and searching a lot. I think I have watched all the videos Tim has done. Still debating what my best route for a new plane. This is right up there in my choices.

Building of the 30cc Slick 540 from Redwing RC!!!

Thanks Jake, That is the kind of info I am looking for. I just want something that is not going to fall apart in the air. Good close in. I have had 2 small 3dhs and a couple EF planes. I have had no real problems with either so that level of quality is know to me albeit one seems better than...

Building of the 30cc Slick 540 from Redwing RC!!!

In my little 3D brain 3dhs and Extreme Flight are legit and proven. The biggest sellers out there for 3d planes. Sure P/A and some others are out there too. But when you talk 3D they (big two) get the most attention. Also all I have for a frame of reference. This airframe looks pretty...

    72" Extra 330SC

Is this still an issue with this airframe? It one is on my short list for a new airframe.

    3dhs 92" Edge 540

Also a small center drill to spot the hole helps. Keeps the drill from rolling off when you are trying to get the hole started.

Building of the 30cc Slick 540 from Redwing RC!!!

How is the build quality compared to the "Big two"? Similar? Lighter? Heavier? Just curious as this is a really nice looking plane.

limited landing area. How big can I get away with?

Dredging up an old thread. I have not been on (the forum) much as I went off on a bit of a fitness quest. I sttarted mountain biking again. Even did a race. Most of all just had fun. Still flying, never stopped. I had good luck with the 47" SHP (above). No problems landing in the yard at...

The Official Precision Aerobatics Addiction thread!

Thinking about picking up an ADX. Looks real floaty and fun. It looks like it could be floaty enough to help me clean up my rollers. The XL looks like it could be even better. I think the X could be a real grin. Anyone have any thoughts on these?

Question? Anyone try nanotech aspec batteries

I just picked up a couple 3s 2200 45c nanotec packs. These were not my first choice but I have been having decent results. I only have about 20 cycles on one and maybe 5 on the other. I am curious to see how these work out for you.

    Cyclic servos for 48in. airframes

I had the 0257 in a 3DHS epp yak 54 with stock arms. No problems. Put them in my shp with a hs 5085 on elevator. I have around 20-30 flights with no issues. I will keep a good eye on them. I planned on using 2 in the wing of my laser with HS-5085's in the tail. To be honest I dont like...

    Cyclic servos for 48in. airframes

I have been using Savox sh0257's in my 48" planes for about a year. I do run a HS-5085 on elevator as they have bigger gears. They have been holding up fine and are crazy fast.
