3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Does anybody that's in the know happen to know if leading edge slats were tried on Bigfoot or any other projects? I have a Vmar Storch that flys like crap, and I think it's the slats. They definately aren't designed correctly, but I'm getting conflicting information on if leading edge slats...

Very cool. It would be great if we could use that as a resource to document any known issues with an airframe. For example, that it is a good idea to watch for wing rib cracks on the first versions of the 72" 3DHS Extra, or that AJ has recommended using the canopy attach bolts on the...

How do they think that they aren't going to drive people away with their crappy make-it-up-on-the-fly moderation. 3DRCF couldn't pay for better advertising...hope they keep it up!

    74" Edge 540

Way to rub it in! Got to -27c (-16.6F) here last night! I love RC, but not that much! Maybe in about 6 months. :crying:

    I Need To Vent

That used to be the case, but they moved the majority of their manufacturing to Mexico last I heard. They claimed they couldn't compete with other companies prices anymore. That was right before all of the fires and recalls started...so I wonder if they still think it was worth it.

    Full Scale 3D flying

I never said I doubted that you saw a blender, I said I didn't know that a full scale could do that. That brings us back to why didn't you see an inverted flat spin if you saw a blender? There is an inverted flat spin at the end of every blender.

    Full Scale 3D flying

If you saw a blender, didn't you see an inverted flat spin at the end of it? I have seen an inverted flat spin before...Air Combat Canada used to start their routine with one plane doing an inverted flat spin from WAY up, while the other plane circled around him with the smoke on. Pilot said...

Go for the aerobat! :flyer: It's cheaper, faster, and more reliable (weather) to fly with an airline if you're doing any serious distance anyways.

That makes everyone outside of the U.S. ineligible. Saves me time and possibly money I guess.

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

It's a pilot that Hobby King used to carry for a short period. They are exactly the same as the Extreme Flight ones, but were half the price. They haven't had them for a few years now though. If you do go for one of the EF pilots, I had to sand down the sides of his shoulders to get him to...

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

That's the hard part for me...even after several years of flying this size of airframe. Even though my 74' Edge and 70" Slick are by far my best flying planes, I get more enjoyment from my smaller ones because I can relax. I think that the 51"-59" planes are the balsa sweet spot for me. EPP...

Safety glasses are a good idea if you don't already wear glasses. It's good to see people taking the time to learn something like soldering. You can fix all kinds of stuff yourself with a skill like that.

Those sure are some lazy hunters. And what's the point of a State Park if they allow hunting in it? Guess your parks are more relaxed with the rules than the ones in Canada.

Thanks...that was only my second full covering job, and the first with more than one color! I cheated on the painting though. I found out that covering will stick to painted surfaces, so I just painted the cowling white and used Ultracote on it. I have used that technique a few times now, and...
