Yippee! Charging The Lithium Polymer Beast

I found this during a google search for more info; Deep cycle batteries are designed to be discharged down as much as 80% time after time, and have much thicker plates. The major difference between a true deep cycle battery and others is that the plates are SOLID Lead plates - not sponge. This...

Yeah, I cooked the Scorpion pretty good...won't even turn over now. I figure it is toast and it was my fault, so it was a lesson learned...so I was extra careful after installing the Motrolfly 4315 and hence the cooling baffles. I don't anticipate even trying to get the Scorpion fixed unless...

well, dang, I didn't measure that! The diameter is close to the width of the mounting tab on the motor mount, if that helps. If you epoxy up the original holes, then you wouldn't have such a tight fit...I just didn't feel like doing that.

Yippee! Charging The Lithium Polymer Beast

Yeah, with Cody there, you've got some real good help. I'm fortunate to have some experienced gasser pilots at my club who are also 3D fliers; they've been very generous with their time and assistance to me. There are some exciting new entries in the 35cc gasser market...I'm following those...

Here's another few pics, FYI....I felt that the motor was getting too hot, so I added some scoops inside the cowl. Now it runs at a very nice temp. It is a little hard to see, but the net effect is to direct air from the bottom chin vent up to the engine. I also wonder if anyone has...

Got some more info tonight that I thought I'd post here. For the Motrolfly DM4315-480 that I have in my 65" Vyper, I purchased 1" nylon standoffs from the local hardware store, and ground them down to 13/16" in length for a good installation. Here's a few pics: The spinner gap: The...

Yes, the i306b is my home and field charger (with a paraboard, of course) ;) if you can afford the 206b I would choose that over the 106...the price difference is negligible and you will regret it later if you don't buy the largest capacity charger you can afford now.
