limited landing area. How big can I get away with?

Agreed, if you had your approach over the pond you'll be fine. Gravity will be your friend in this case. My suggestion would be to kill the engine a foot or two off the ground so you don't get a propstrike on the hill

    74" Edge 540

So right now I'm looking at: Motrofly 4330 Castle Pheonix edge lite 130 Hitec 7955tg Castle Creations BEC pro 20 I guess that's it electronically. Thanks guys!

    74" Edge 540

Cool, thanks on both counts! A few guys at the field are calling me "killer" because of all the servos I've gone through, but on a plane this size I definitely can't have that happen, both for safety and I can't exactly afford to lose a plane. I think Wamsy is running the 7955's on his 72 at my...

    74" Edge 540

Thanks! That motrofly is especially good to know, every one of them I've seen has been awesome. How well are those Savox's holding up? Worries me that they only have half the torque of the 7955TG's, but if they can take it, it's something to look into. Thanks! Are there any problems with...

    74" Edge 540

What's the best aggressive 3d setup for this, also, is there an ETA for the red version?

    48" mxs

Here's a video of my MXS at Nall, what an awesome plane! My flying was a bit rough, as I was a big bundle of nerves since my laser crashed about 15 mins earlier(rudder and elevator crapped out, as hobbyking was getting video of my flight no less) and I hadn't flown this one in about 6...

Don't blame the guys putting themselves on the line for the politics of our world

    ** The 3DRCForums 38! **

Agreed. Defeats the purpose of a competition, and is unfair to those who have dedicated their time to understand and correctly complete a maneuver.

Yeah, that's gotta be tough, especially with the comradery of a job like that, more of a family than a bunch of coworkers.

I probably cannot attend, but I did want to mention to anybody on the fence about doing this, go for it! At the Knoxville huckfest I competed in the night time huckfest competition and it was an absolute blast! Guys were flying everything from crack yaks to 104 slicks, and were of all skill...

Wow, that's terrible, glad to hear your friend is okay though. That's such a terrible loss, my thoughts go out to the families as well

Anybody know if these will fit in a 58 edge? Specs are awesome, and I believe they are the same size as 5245's http://www.helidirect.com/rjx-fs0391-mini-cyclic-servo-p-31360.hdx? Operation Voltage: 6V-8.4V Weight: 50g(1.7oz) Torque: 8.4kg/cm (116.7oz/in)@6V 9.6kg/cm...

I think I'm going to have to. It's been like 7 servo's(and 3 planes because of servos) since Nall I'm thinking of just getting rid of the smaller planes at this point, I don't have enough $ to invest in a set of new servos. I'd like to get a 58 edge and/or a 74 edge, so that way I can actually...

Looks like a killed another servo in my laser, these hitecs have just been terrible for 3d

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

It's their older Extra, and with a 50cc it's way underpowered and snappy. It's also got a really bad throttle delay(after flying all electrics, instincts kicked in), which got me at Nall on a tail touch. I know I'd be happier with their newer one. My 48 in. laser flies smoother than it. Not to...

Hmm, I'll try and find our pics. I just watched a video on youtube of a radiocraft extra doing some good rollers, and a little bit of upright and inverted harriers, so that's a good sign. The video is 5 years old, so it's all high alpha 3d, none of the fun high energy stuff, so hopefully it...

Right now it's crated up from our last move, and I just went through a ton of pictures, can't find it. If I can find a mouse I'll check on our old computer, may have some on there. I'll keep looking though, got nothing better to do

Anybody flown a Radiocraft 35% Staudacher? We have one laying around(beautiful plane too, the guy who built it was a Top Gun builder/competitor) but we need to get new servos for it. I know it used to be one of the best planes in its day, but I'm sure things have changed. Just wondering if it's...
