    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

don't worry about making anybody mad...we're just discussing different ideas/techniques for doing this kind of stuff. :) I'm glad this info came out, I wasn't sure thin CA would be strong enough for the elevator joiner, but if you guys say it works fine, I'll consider it in the future. Less...

The instructions (IIRC) for the standard stab construction procedure state to put thick CA in the joiner slot, then glue the joiner to one stab half, then slide through opening, then glue joiner to the other stab half. I'm just saying that instead of using thick CA (or any kind of CA) for this...

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

I was doing some serious flying with this plane yesterday. The weather was tenuous in the morning; drove through some rainstorms to get to the field! Stuck it out and was rewarded with a beautiful, cool, sunny afternoon with some good friends in nearby Rockford. Steve, Tim, and the rest of...

    3DHS 71" Slick (gas) with OS GT33

Had a great time flying this plane yesterday. Did my first tail touches with it. Really getting comfortable with the flight envelope and flying low with it. My buddy Bruce snapped some pics and I should be getting those from him soon, I hope they turned out good! Will post them upon receipt.

Had a great time flying with some buddies in Rockford yesterday. Steve and Tim and the Kieselburg Flyers have a really nice field and great hospitality. Got to fly my 51" Slick and my 71" Slick and really had fun. Steve has a 70" Slick in the FB/Crimson Bovine scheme that he flew as...

    Team 3DRCF Joe "Hone" Villavicencio

Nah, he needs to hire someone to come over and fix em. ;) in the old days, kids would come over to mow lawns; I'm sure they'd come over to fix Pontus' planes for cash instead of mowing his lawn. ;)

Yeah, I always use epoxy on the joiner...I'm not fast enough for CA either.

    3DHS 48" vyper

This is a good plane for windy situations. I fly my 46" Vyper (V1) in any and all wind conditions. The only Vyper that flies better than this one is the 65" Vyper ;) which I also have! You will be glad you got this airframe and I'm sure you will enjoy it immensely. :) Let us know!

Joe, those are awesome pics and that looks like a great combo. Love how the 40 fits in the cowl. Only thing I have a question about is the spinner gap. From the side view pic it looks like a good 1/4" to 1/2" spinner gap...am I seeing that correctly? Do you have the motor that far forward...

    Small Gas 3D

There are a number of people who have mounted the DLE-20 on the Vyper 65...the cowl doesn't fit on super cleanly, but the plane flies excellently. If you really want to stay below the 7x size airframes, this is a valid choice. If you really want to stay with the 58-60" airframes, I think you'll...
