Do you think that the control horn is CA'd in? If so I bet the stuff SteveT is recommending would make it happen! I've got some Mercury de-bonder and it doesn't seem to work-- even for cleanup  .

Steve: I am wondering about the optional nylon canopy/hatch screws. Does a person need them for an electric setup, or is this a must either way? I didn't see anything in your article or the manuals I've looked through about it.

Servos: Metal Gear v. Plastic v. Digital

Metal gear is always the way to go IMHO, but I do have some HS-65HB's in my 3DHS 47" SHP that have taken a beating, not only in that plane but also a foamy. After two seasons of hard landings on the tail, ground loops (you get the picture), and everything else I can pull off at high speed in...

This is great news! I would like to check this out a little more. Any links or a website in regards to the event that I can check out? FOGs = :cursing: = :banghead: = :grumpy: = :crying:

Nice article SteveT! I guess I need to search a little harder before asking. :ashamed: Your article sums up a lot of my questions. I also found it helpful to look at the 25% AJ Slick manual, as that almost seems a better fit for this plane. In replacing the new firewall on the electric...

Ok two final questions for a while... I hope... What is the best method for installing hinges on the tail fins? I am afraid that if I do one half at a time (what I mean here is glue the hinge points in the vertical stab, and then after dry, glue them into the control surface) I will limit throw...

Thanks Guys! More questions: I am wondering about using two servos for the elevator control. I have all of the equipment (servos, extensions, etc.), but because weight is a concern, is there a need? Is it still good advice to go through all of the joints before the firewall with thin CA? I...

So a couple of questions: In dry fitting the CF wing tube, it was really tight. I was able to slide it in only by rotating it back and forth. I am wondering is that normal? Also, I noticed the issue with the electric power motor extension. Is top still top and left still right? Finally, I am...

Haha! I got ya. I was wondering?? It's really too bad there isn't something around here for us "Northerners." I would love to attend, but the minimum 12hr drive makes it a little out of reach.

Any chance there will be a 'FLI' in the North Central Mid-West area? Dad and I have been looking for a good first event to attend.

I have to be honest... it was reading through a bunch of your posts, as well as discussion here that lead me to my decision! So the gas prop in a smaller size (20") loads the prop better? Would running wood (vs. C.F.) in the PJN option be too much?

I am curious what brand & size your skis are, as well as where you got them? Are they a Dubro product? Great idea for a tail skid! I also bought a TransMitt for my Dad and I for Christmas. Reacher10 is the man. Great guy to work with!

Hey djmoose! I have one of these (http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/6-inch-ec3-to-dual-jr-y-harness-SPMYHEC36#t1) for the power lead to the receiver. I assume that this would be ok? That switch you suggested is sweet! I am thinking about just connecting without any switch. What is the...

Great advice! Doing some reading again... (uh ohh!) I don't know if I am understanding the posts wrong or if I need to read more, but, does it make sense that some folks are using a separate BEC in addition to the separate battery pack? I know if you were running 3s on a receiver, one would...
