Have you tried Tominator's gas Slick? While it's not a perfect simulation of the real thing I think it's suitably close.

The 3DRCForums -OFF TOPIC- Thread I've had both 3DHS and EF planes and they are both fantastic. I'm currently loving my EF 60" Edge. I've always been the type of person that goes between all sorts of groups clicks because I don't like conflict and I'm a generally social person. When it comes...

That's a tough comparison for me since the largest Slick I have is the 51". In other words, part of what I love about my 57" Extra is the size and stability. But if I had to compare I'd say that the Slicks are easier to hover, the Extra is easier to harrier and they both tumble like mad...

    48" EPP Yak

Good to hear. It will handle a fair amount of wind JUST fine but with what you guys have down your way... I wouldn't venture out either! Stay safe and dry!

Just recently got the EF 60" Edge and I'm in love with it!! Super floaty, harriers like its on rails and will handle anything else I can throw at it.

    48" EPP Yak

Awesome. Let us know how it goes. I love mine!! One quick tip... If you like to do blenders then use very little throttle and this plane will spin like mad. My balsa planes like a little throttle so when I first tried them with the EPP Yak it kept flattening out. Eased off the throttle and BAM!

Totally agree. I switched from Phoenix to RF6 and have never looked back. However, I find that the stock planes suck. Tominator's Slick and Extra variants are almost all I use. Love his gas variants even though I only fly electric... They just feel right to me. I've also modded the stock Yak a...

    High Alpha Only!

+100! Losi told me this early on a d I learned torque rolls quite easily after that. On Inverted harrier push the rudder where you want the closest part of the plane to go. Joe Smith said this in another thread and I'd heard it before as well. If the plane is coming towards you give rudder to...

    48" EPP Yak

Have you flown it already?? Glad you got it so quickly. I found that these EPP full fuse planes go together very nicely.

VERY nice. I didn't know you guys were on Tapatalk now. I'll add that tonight and I'll be all set.

    Focus areas

Love the concept of this thread. Jim and Joe's posts above are golden indeed! I especially agree with Joe's point on being in the hobby for the right reason. I've always said that I'll quit flying the day I don't find it enjoyable. Like golf, it's easy to get caught up in the process of...

That was my exact thought as well. Although I KNOW that I'll probably pick one of these up eventually - if it's as good as I'm expecting it to be. I knew the price woudl be a bit higher but I wasn't expecting it to be THAT much higher. Not that I'm doubting the price point... I'm sure it's...

    48" EPP Yak

I just recently picked up one of these and I'm loving it. http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/48-EPP-Yak-54_p_16116.html It really doesn't have any bad habits. It's 3Ds great and is also good for precision flying as well. It's a great practice plane that you can fly almost anywhere.

Loving my 57" Extra. Unfortunately I'm waiting on a new motor box because I had the bright idea of trying a full throttle blender that dislodged my battery. But I'll have her back in the air very shortly as my supplies are on their way!

I couldn't agree more. This is one of those planes that I always plan on having in my hangar. It's just that good.

I can't say enough good things about my 48" Edge. It was my first 3D plane and I still love flying it today.
