    I use paint sticks to stripe critical bolts. That way I can see at a glance if they have rotated.

    Eventually almost all of us will have to pay attention to sound. Even electrics can rip the prop and be very noisy.

    I like how clean the cowl is, with no cutouts for the stock noisy "mufflers". The pipe makes more power and is quieter.

    Perhaps, but the Viton is good to 400F and has shown zero degradation in this application. Silicone is not gasoline resistant, but Viton is.

    Funny that was a long time ago and many thought it would not work. It still is working like 3 years later. I don't understand why they are all not this way from the manufacturer?     The best way I have done it is to mill a O ring groove in one surface and use a Viton O ring (with 10-20% compression). But, one does always have the real estate to fit it (or access to a CNC mill).
