    Registration of UAS

AMA is saying to hold off on registering. More details to come. A snipit from the e-mail - As we proceed with this process, we suggest AMA members hold off on registering their model aircraft with the FAA until advised by the AMA or until February 19, the FAA's legal deadline for registering...

I've heard several people say "I don't want my name in a government database". I can appreciated that. I'm retired military, I pay taxes, I have a concealed carry permit, I'm an FAA licensed pilot, I'm a registered voter, the list goes on, my name is in all kinds of government databases. I...

I don't like it either. But I am not going to let it ruin my fun. I will register on Monday and I will continue to fly and have fun with my planes. Some day we will get a president like Reagan that will pull the government out of our hair via deregulation. Until then, fighting them is not...

I would love to tell them "adios" but I need the insurance as it is a club requirement.

I am the webmaster for our club. I am working to get all the details posted so the membership can go to the club's webpage to get to the FAA link.

Right? We fly on a private field with a locked gate that requires an access code. Those folks that have public fields may get regular visits from the feds but I don't see local law enforcement having the bandwidth to mess with this. Unless you are a dipwad flying a drone over a public stadium.

I will register. Not worth getting all bent out of shape about it. Here is my question though. What purpose does the AMA serve? They raised our rates and failed miserably at lobbying the FAA on our behalf. If I can find a $250,000 liability insurance policy for less than the AMA dues, why...

    New Build Help

I would take Bipe's advice too. I am not an electric guy. I love the sound, smell and duration of gas. I admit, I do own 7 electric birds. FMS F4 Corsair (weak gear) FMS P51 Mustang (burned up motor) FMS F4 Phantom (EDF) (won at Christmas Party 2015) E-flight Pacer (won at Christmas Party...

    New Build Help

I have the 50cc version but momma has said I can't build it until Christmas. Right now it is sitting in my shop wrapped in plastic staring at me while I build a GT Trainer that I have kept pushing off to the back burner.

    New Build Help

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the planes you have listed. I have built 3 RedwingRC planes and can vouch for the quality. I have heard good things about EF and now that they own 3DHS, I would assume those are good as well. I do like that Redwing includes CF parts with their kits...

70mm with an 8 blade fan. Wife loves the planes. She thinks the real jets are totally cool and although the price of the scale planes freaks her out, she is OK with some of the used jet entry models in the $3-5K range.

Dare I say the weather here has been absolutely perfect? Light winds and sunny warm days. (Hey! Don't be a hater.) Had our Club Christmas party last night and my wife won a F4 EDF from FMS. She is super happy. She wants to fly it this weekend. I don't think she is ready for it but I will...

Played hookie today and got in 6 flights. Sunny, light winds and 63 degrees. I also took the time to jump on the mower and clean up around the parking/pit areas. Rain forecast for the rest of the week. :cursing:
