    Hey Tony, To cut the slit in the lead screw I used the same fixture I used on the lathe bed. I just cut a pinching groove in the side of it and clamped the lead screw in and cut it with a slitting saw. I used a coping saw to cut the groove in the worm gear you made, for the worm gear key. It...

    Hey Tony, It's not threaded, but it will have a 1/32 slot cut down the length of carrage travel. The gear you made will be turned by the shaft, or carrage handle, moving the carrage. I still have to cut the key slot in that gear that will mate with the lead screw slot.
