    In addition to the spar, looks like you also soaked the existing joint with epoxy. Or did you open that up at all to get epoxy all the way in?

    Thanks to this thread I went out with my Comp-ARF Extras 260. Got it great after a few attempts, but then I was so amazed at myself I forgot what I did so couldn't replicate it. Came home and reread this thread. Practiced it again on the RealFlight Sim. Hope to remember it next time!

    worse when you discover it was due to poor glue job from a respectable manufacturer, and even worse when said manufacturer knows of the weakness but doesn't improve on it.

    I've never had that problem at the AMA sanctioned events I've been to. Usual pilots meeting first thing in the morning, but that is reasonable.

    I'm sure Andy can chime in, but I think the most AMA can do is to counsel the club in how it conducts its business. I suspect the AMA would only step in if the club were conducting itself in an unsafe or otherwise illegal manner, e.g., acting in a racist manner. AMA can't fix stupid. Nobody can.
