First flight also ended in a tree. The bad part is that wasn't the only one that ended a tree. I think I have had 5 or six more since then. Tried to KE between 2 palm trees the other day about 3 ft apart with my crack yak did not turn out well either

My first flight was 1.5 seconds long...I had the ailerons reversed (plus, they weren't trimmed well to begin with). When I checked the ailerons in pre-flight...one went up, the other went down...so I'm thinking, "that's what they're supposed to do, we're good to go" During the black box analysis I found my mistake. I know what you're all thinking, and, no, I hadn't been drinking. I did that while crying over my tangled mess of balsa. I got home and my wife asks, "how did it go?". I replied, "where do we hide the whisky?"

I learned how to fly in Okinawa Japan from a Japanese pilot. It was really interesting because they fly mode 1 over there for the most part, so he learned to fly mode 2 so he could teach me to fly :) I guess he was good because that trainer lasted for a long time. The second plane was a Scat Cat Quickie 500 plane. I had a 32 on a pipe and flew it so much that the wing pin holes wore out :)

That is so nice when you fly a plane so much that it wears out. :yesss:
