New Product Dancing Wings 30cc Savage Bobber

Got the news a few days ago that Dancing Wings Models will be releasing a scaled up 30cc version of their already popular 1 meter electric ARF Savage Bobber. DW has been stepping up their game recently by offing larger size ARFs including a nifty 30cc Tiger Moth. Not really known for quality ARFs but smaller balsa kits lets hope this is something worth looking at. The only details I have are that the fuselage is made of welded metal as is the gear. A 94" wingspan and designed around a 30cc gas engine. It is not slated for release until early next year however. I have spoken to one of the Asian distributors and made some suggestions on improving the wheels which so far look like tennis balls, and a flimsy looking gear. Hear are some pictures to contemplate.

Like the idea please keep us informed.

How "savage" of you :LOL_gif:

The bobber is a neat concept, but I can only imagine the rc version with a welded frame to be on the heavier side.

Paolo Severin made a 1/4 scale storch kit with a welded stainless steel fuse and it was fine. Also the Zlin company in the Czech Republic builders of the full scale Bobber also make a steel framed model in both 1/3 scale and 1/2.5 scale which are super slow flyers, so it is possible to make a reasonably light model. these cost upwards of 5,000 bucks though. Big question mark on the quality of a Chinese clone of same however.
But it has flown as a prototype. You can expect cheap painted steel I presume, but if they can get a halfway decent version with the scale tubular fuse for a reasonable price, they will sell a bunch.
First pic on ground is the Zlin 1/2.5 scale model. second is the DW version @94" in flight
