That sucks huh? Live and learn. When I flew mine while equipped with the Saito, I used the flaps a few times. She seemed very steady. But I hadn't programed in any elevator to counter act the effect of the flaps, so she had a tendency to balloon. I have dialed in about 25% down elevator for full flap deployment. I really like the P-mixing on the Hitec X9. There are a number of options for programming different functions. The selection I chose was gradual down elevator trim to match the movement of the flaps. Of course incrementally far less than the flaps at full deployment. I will no doubt need to play with the mixing to get it perfect once she's airborne. I really did like flying it before. I just hated the mess from the glow fuel, the cost of the glow fuel and the overall amount of consumption that 180 gulped glow fuel. I think I will really enjoy it now. It should be a real..."gas"! (Pun intended)Rob !
Oh, glad you asked !! It was my curiosity of seeing how much flaps I could use on takeoff. First it went real good with about 10% so dumb me, I thought full flaps would be even better !! Got in the air & the wings started going back & forth & it crashed. So, I now know 10% is plenty. That was about 4 yrs. ago . I think I had a DLE-30 on it & it flew great till I did that.
Hope we see some video or pics. of yours !! I know you'll do real well with it !!
Thanks, John !

Ya'll will. Hoping for a re-gasserized maiden this weekend.Yes it sucks, ha !! Now I just stick to the aerobatic planes, mostly concentrating on the landings !! I never got very good at the programming of these radios as yrs.' ago a friend of mine would want to do all that for me & so I never got good at the programming. I have the 10C Fut. radio & a 9C & a DX-8 too that I only use for electrics.
Those Saito 180s are nice & another friend of mine has at least 2 of them but he moved into gas now too & I don't think he flies the Saitos any more. I'm mostly concentrating on my big Extra ! I have 8 flights on itis all because the weather has been no good for flying in my area.
Thanks again Rob & hope we see you fly your Cessna !!
I really hate that. Wheels is as impotent as wingies.I put some proper wheels on my Flite Test Storch tonight. The foam core ones it came with didn't hold up worth a crap. First taxi across our grass field and they were toast.
