    JRxg14

+1 on the XG14 Quality but mixing options are slightly limited. Will cover all but the most demanding. DMSS is rock solid -moved from DMS2 -telemetry is fine - just started getting used of its looks and the small screen (nothing like my old 9503). The 11 is more powerful radio - for those who...

Gasser Throttle Servo, What Do You Like?

Throttle is directional control. So as per EF suggestion: "Dont skimp on servos''. A fast (0,12-),accurate (digital) and reliable sevo is a must IMHO. Good linkage geometry should not be overlooked aswell.

    Tech-aero IBEC question

Been flying the Tech Aero (Syssa) IBEC for 6 years in JR DSM2. Never missed a beat week after week. Several sessions after with my new XG14/DMSS all the same. These units are very reliable.

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

After being involved to 60 -90 size model helicopters since 1994 and active for over a decade all I can say now is giant scale gassers are relatively cheap and by far more enjoyable! This opinion is shared between a couple of my clubmates that followed the same route as well.

    To drain or not?

@ Truckracer . Odour control is not an issue either since I store in the garage so some fuel is always left in the tank. It is the starting issue that has me baffled. @jamesrxx951 . My practice so far has been not to run the engine dry at the end of the session and 3 months storage would give...

    To drain or not?

It does, but I am working on it... If running dry wont help that leads to the marine outboard practice to turn on the engine from time to time (for those that dont winterize). Hard thing to follow but it seems mandatory in order to avoid an on-site painful arm ... almost.

    To drain or not?

My flying intervals span much longer than month past 2 years...sadly enough. P.S. I own 2X DLE 55s. Both express the same behaviour after long storage. Never stored dry.

    To drain or not?

    To drain or not?

How many of us have expeience starting problems after putting our engine out of use for some period? Sure I am not the only one. Issue addresed to a mechanic from a local lawnmower shop and he replied that contaminated oil leftover clogs carb after gas is long evaporated so I should run my...

    number of flips...

DLE55: Choke on. 5-6 flips until it primes. Choke off. 5-6 flips to start. Never run dry at the end of session and occasionaly ground run once a month when at off season. Always left some fuel in tank to keep fuel magnet and viton line soft when stored. Same procedure...

So where is everyone from? Countries? States?

Giant scale in Greece is a small but very active community. When temperture rizes way above 35oC this time of the year we generally prefer to crack a beer in shade at the beach. RC Flying resumes late September at best...and goes strong untill next summer:biggrin-new:! Cheers.
