So you sheet everything seal and paint . I've never done one that way I always thought a model got alot of its strength from the covering

Question what's your guys opinion on monocoat versus ultrakote I used ultrakote on my 300s recently it seems to me it wrinkles in the sun easier granted I'm getting back into the hobby and I'm going off of memory

I did my wings partially aswell not sure why mine came out so heavy haha . But it seems my planes always seem to come out on the heavy side of the kit specs my cubs skybolt etc I used to use wood glue sometimes never really thought about it being lighter though good tip thank you

Up date I have removed all lead built a tray to fit in the cowling and moved ignition and ignition batteries forward . I also moved receiver battery behind the firewall and the plane balances perfect with no lead woohoo I don't think moving the receiver battery forward will create interference...

I know this isn't considered a giant scale plane but was always one of my favorite easy to build kits and every day flier planes I've built 3 in the past some with tail mods. anyways I've ordered 2 kits one for my adult son and 1 for me he talked me into getting back into the hobby didn't take...

Yeah I was thinking some heat shield insulation myself. I agree with the spinner suggestion I have the worst luck with them I've broke 2 nice aluminum ones on this plane..

thanks snoopy i can move the ignition and battery about 4 to 6 inches forward if i do that hopefully that will offset the need for a lot of lead

I remember why I stopped flying it . Wife took a hammer to it and a few of my others in a alcohol induced rage years ago . I couldn't even look at the plane for years without my blood boiling... But that's the past... It was stored in my hot attic for years not sure that would make any...

I already did that very thing moved the motor forward 1/4 inch it didn't seem to make much difference . I have been considering making a tray over top the motor for the ignition and battery not much room but I think they would fit but kinda worried about heat not sure yet

I never had lead in this plane originally many years ago and it flew great . Now that I've rebuilt it I didn't change anything except a couple small gussets on the rudder some glue rest of the rebuild was basically up front oh and added a extension to the back so I could run my elevator halves...
