Well it is all done and ready to go, standing in the garage to be loaded and go for the maiden flight. Did all the final checks, checked the gas tank and ran the engine. Just have to have a good day that is not to windy or raining.

Nice set up if I see it correctly you have two servos doing the job one on either side of the fuselage. Do you prefer this to the pull pull cable system and if so why. Or did you do this to achieve balance.
Thank you. Having two rudder servos in the rear is my favorite setup. It's kind of two fold. One, it does tend to help in getting my slightly tail heavy setup that I like for 3D. If I want less tail heavy... such as my Sukhoi, I just move my flight packs further forward. The second reason is I feel it gives a much more solid and precise setup for the rudder. Plus I never have to adjust cables. I do this with all my planes if possible. Obviously a 50cc doesn't need it.

Here you go Tanner. I am not entirely certain of what it is that is different or just what you can tell from the photos of my Edge rudder. But as you can see, I get plenty...way lots of plenty of rudder throw. In fact, I have my rudder throw "e.p.a'd" out to stop it from going full stop either direction. And the rudder will travel exactly the same amount whether left or right. Full down elevator does not interfere with the rudder travel. I have found that the 107" V2 Pilot Edge does not "need" all the rudder throw you can get out of it. In fact, too much rudder actually counteracts any superior maneuvering capabilities. For example: Both my 107"'ers only needs about 30 degrees max throw to get wicked fast and tight knife edge spins. "Pop-Tops" are just as insane. When doing full throttle knife edge snaps, max throw of the rudder will give you some extremely violent snaps. From perfect Left wing up snapped to perfect Right wing up and vice versa.

I added the lower horn to try and correct the terrible geometry as best as I could but it looks like the entire setup was doomed from the start. From what I gather, it looks like your elevator is set in the fuselage a lot higher than mine is which is why you have no issues with installing a rudder servo in the tail.

I'm changing the entire setup to pull pull so I shouldn't have this problem anymore.

Hmmm! You see the difference in servo locations? Mine is higher than yours. To get the correct geometry, the servo needs to be higher in the fuse. Does your fuse have just one servo location per side? Never really looked at mine. Will check it again this evening.

It has 2 servo boxes, but both are in the exact same location, one per side of the fuselage. Look at the stabs too, yours are sitting a lot higher than mine.

I wonder if you flipped your servo arms up instead of down if that would help. Or did you try that already?

I already tried that, that's how it was originally setup. The entire linkage geometry was perfect, so long as I didn't use any down elevator at all, because it would hit the linkage.

Hey @Snoopy1,

Your little Super Sportster looks AWESOME. . . . :big_yes: You did such a great job of building the cowl around the engine cylinder, I have to ask this question. Do you have enough of an air gap around the cylinder for the carburetor to get the air it needs?

That would make perfect sense then. It is odd that your fuse is different than my fuse. How about making new Servo holes in the fuselage in the same location as what mine are? Just a suggestion and trying to help. I'm just not a real big fan of pull pull cable Rudder setups.

Already committed to going pull-pull, the airplane really needs more weight up front anyways :way_to_go:
