Another member on the site here just finished building one, and the AUW was in the 15lb range... that's light!

So I couldn't resist, and I jumped in on the pre-order for one off of the next container coming in January. I chose the green! Since there are limited quantities, you might want to reserve one if you're thinking about it. Here is the pre-order link: http://www.redwingrc.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_21_35&products_id=276

Ok... so for my build, here is my power plan:
DLE55 spinning a 23x8
XQ Power 4020D Servos

Is it January yet?

I have put a bunch of flights on both of my Redwing Slicks (30cc and 50cc.) They both fly great, the quality is very good, and they are reasonable priced.

Heard a rumor this AM that the Mad Scientist Enterprise saw all the fun going on in here and pre-ordered a Slick?

It was the 15 pound AUW that attracted me to this plane. Also when I saw that there was the newer schemes that further sold me. That apple red and green scheme is just not me.

I needed to find a home for my O.S. GT60. This engine was purchased to get a 3D plane that was sound compliant and my closest field. 96db at 20 feet is not easy in 60cc, and impossible over that in our current experience. We did get a new, more reliable sound meter so maybe there is still hope. This engine has had a sub par season with trying something like 10 props on it, and this is where a lot of my prop box props came from. It had a in flight ejection from my 88 edge at a fun fly (due to a bad repair on my part, epoxy needs a rough surface to adhere properly, FYI) and it now has had to be fully rebuilt. This was one of those part at a time deals, that ended up being so expensive, I should have bought a new motor. After the incident we discovered bad scoring in the cylinder unrelated, so I am hoping all my performance issues were from that, which could have happened at any point earlier as it got dinked with a lot, and ran lean at some point.

The one experiment on this plane will be a new ignition module from rx eXtreme power. He has a custom Hall sensor mount for the OS, and this supposedly fixed the whole starting issues with the O.S. line.

Other than the GT60, I am going to use a powersafe RX, Tech aero IBEC, 16oz tank, and probably Hitec 7955/7954s as I have a bunch of these laying around.
