Hi everyone,

I posted this over at MultiRotorForums.com, it's a new streaming internet show I'm launching this Wednesday. "Drones" don't get a lot of love from the fixed wing community and I get that, after all, fixed wing is still a beloved hobby of mine. I'm hoping to bring a balanced approach to the show as a full scale career pilot, a devoted RC fixed wing hobbyist, and a builder/operator of multi-rotor helicopters.

We're doing this from the studio I built in the new office. If there is any interest I'd be happy to put together a separate show for Giant Scale RC. Maybe monthly?

Here's the release I sent out for "Drone" Radio Live

Five years ago.....
....I bought my first multi-rotor helicopter kit, a Mikrokopter Okto II and life has literally never been the same. At the time you could find a place on the internet to discuss just about everything....Les Pauls, oil-heads, family trees.....but if you wanted to freely discuss the entirety of what was going on with multi-rotor helicopters then you were out of luck.

So in December of 2010 I registered the domain MultiRotorForums.com, bought some server space and have worked very hard ever since to maintain a friendly and civil environment where all brands and all issues can be discussed objectively and openly.

On October 28th, at 9 PM Eastern time we're taking a big evolutionary step forward with the launch of "Drone" Radio Live, a new bi-weekly show that will be live-streamed (including video!) over the internet from our new production studio in scenic Clinton, NJ!!

The show can be found at;
www.youtube.com/user/multirotorforums/live

"Drone" Radio Live will be all about multi-rotor helicopters...
  • How to build
  • How to fix
  • How to fly
  • How they are being used
  • Current news discussions with Patrick Egan of sUASnews.com
  • Safety briefings
  • Product reviews
  • Contest announcements
  • Multi-rotors in STEM education
  • FPV racing reports and event announcements
  • Feature discussions with the people making multi-rotor news
  • Viewer calls (via Skype), show off your latest builds, mods, etc!
  • Government Regulation :(
  • Plus a whole lot more!
Episode 1 on the 28th will be our opportunity to answer the most common questions we've encountered in the months spent preparing to launch the show. Patrick Egan will be calling in (via Skype) to discuss the news and we'll try to save some time at the end for our first viewer calls (also via Skype).

Whenever possible we'll emphasize a balance between personal responsibility and achieving a reasonable regulatory environment. People involved at all levels that are working to achieve this will have an open invitation to participate and use this platform to advance their goals.

Please join us on the 28th at 9PM Eastern via the link below;
www.youtube.com/user/multirotorforums/live

Reach us via Skype during the show when indicated at DroneRadioLive1 or DroneRadioLive2.

Join us to discuss "Drone" Radio Live at MultiRotorForums.com

Please email Bart at Bart@MultiRotorForums.com if you have questions about how to appear on "Drone" Radio Live or how to become a sponsor.

Thank you very much for reading, we'll see you on the 28th!

"Drone" Radio Live, a new streaming internet talk show focused exclusively on multi-rotor helicopters, the people that build and fly them, and the companies that make them. Hosted by Bart Cocchiola, not an internet marketing specialist (obviously!) trying to get in on the "Drone" revolution but a builder/flyer/designer/crasher of multi-rotor helicopters and your host at MultiRotorForums.com!

Hi guys, one thing I should have mentioned is that once the first show is over my schedule will actually ease up. building the studio, choosing the equipment and getting it to all work together, planning the show and trying to get some promotional stuff out has all been extremely time consuming. i've been coming through here each morning to kick out spammers and check on things but man I want to fly an airplane Thursday morning!

@49dimes; looks fun........sure, you can only own one, that's what I said too!

@garlandk ; i'd love to schedule you to call in sometime and tell us how your professional UAV experience compares to your hobby flying

@Wacobipe; the show will automatically archive to the multirotorforums.com youtube channel....once one show is there i'm going to email the link to our vendor list to see if there is any interest in sponsoring a Giant Scale show. if there's interest we'll give it a try. i purposely made the counter in the studio big enough for giant scale planes to sit on.

For what it's worth, Bob Brown, President of AMA, will be our featured guest Wednesday night on the show. I'm planning to ask about the usual stuff being discussed at the moment; registrations, regulations, and working to exclude fixed wing and single rotor heli's from the FAA's efforts.
