MVVS 175 with 3 and 2 blades

OK boys and gals been out to test something I wanted to do since I've got back competing in the UK.

A 3 blade prop 29-12N Mejzlik on my MVVS 175, and boy I was so amazed.
I thought it will get to an unreasonable rpm but it got to "only" 6350-6400.
The plane was like a pussycat in the sky and the sound was awesome.
Unlimited vertical and the throttle management was awesome.
My old krill SU 29 weigh about 48.5 pounds.

Now I'm ordering the regular 29-12 to check it out as well.

So for summery
MVVS 175 with stock cans on 3 blades Mejzlik 29-12N 6350-6400 rpm.

When the Falcon 3-blades are back in stock you may want to try those. Having way better luck with Falcon than Mej these days. Lighter for one, and more choices (at least in two blade).

Well I did try the 32-11W and the 31-12, 2 blades.
Very good props, from the short time I had with them I can only say it's a pilot choice.

I've just heard good things about their new 3-blades, I'm not a 3-blade guy.

Do you remember what you were getting with the 32x11W? I run that on my GP176 and just ordered another one for the ZDZ180. Great low and slow 3D prop.

OK guys the moment of truth.
60-68 F.
1018 hPa
0900 hours
Wind 10-15 K.

We did our IMAC NATs this weekend so I've test trial each and every prop in real time with some judges to say and score what they think.

The major conclusion I got to was that the MVVS 175 can work in very high rpm with ease.
The second was that even with low rpm prop can still rip.
The third was the more rpm you get the faster you go and more more stable you fly especially after some high and low speed maneuvers.

The 29-12N 3 blades. got my MVVS to 6350rpm static.
The prop didn't rip and the plane was flying like on tracks.
Unlimited vertical even after aggressive maneuvers.
The plane is about 48 pounds.
The Ail and Ele needs to be higher it makes them be more smooth and not crisp.
The sound is awesome and not ripping so you get the most from the engine which is about 20HP.
It gave me the best throttle management you can get.

The 29-13.5Q 2 blades. Got the MVVS to 6330rpm static.
Like the 29-12N this prop is awesome the same unlimited up line after several snaps it just keep on going up. Didn't loos power a bit. Crazy.
It was a smidge stronger then the 29-12N.
But it made the tail be a little bit delicate so you'll need to soften it.
Ail were precise.
The prop noise was a little bit ripping but with a right throttle management you can overcome it. You just don't need to fly the plane in full throttle the power is there and it's Instant !! Even when you do inside loop with 2 different elements.

I'm going to fly them both with the new 2016 unlimited schedule and see which is best for me.

The 29-12 3 blades gave me 5850-5900 rpm static.
Strangely in the air it was ripping a little bit.
up lines were good but after a few elements it lost the power and speed not like the 29-12N.

The same thing with the 29-12evo 3 blades which gave me 5770 rpm static.

So with all that being said.
The best props for IMAC for my 48 pound KRill SU 29 with the MVVS 175 on stock cans are the 3 blades 29-12N or the 29-13.5Q.
Both cut through the wind like hot knife through butter.
You should see it to believe it.

I would have thought the 29x13.5 wouldn't be near enough prop for that engine. Hard to tell from the picture, but the blade shape seems different.

I think it's the most efficient 2 blades I've ever installed on my 175 and I'm flying with this engine since 2012.
I did try almost every prop brand and size there is on the market from custom made to generic, wood and carbon you name it.
I was surprised as well.
The funny thing was after you do several elements on up line the plane is gaining speed again after the last element.

As for the shape, it's very pointy at the tip and fatter on the middle for proportion it's fatter than the 32-12evo I've got here.

This weekend I tried the 29-13.5Q for my freestyle routine.
It's a different plane !
Enormous roar power it's unbelievable !
Wow !
The plane actually did some new and unexpected maneuvers because of the overpower it got.
