Limitless Aero Aeroplus RC 108" corvus racer build

Rick dazzler

Hey guys.. I decided to take a break from my 50% build and throw this one together..
I sold my trusty backup 120cc sbach. I have been sbached out and I am always into new and different designs..
Thats what made me want this corvus 540.. It is sleek, slinder, and a huge airplane..

I was more than impressed at first glance of the box.. it came in 3 box's all from 1" or more thick honeycomb cardboard and WELL protected...

Taking the plane out of the boxes was impressive.. NOT ONE WRINKLE in the oracover!

The canopy ACTUALLY FITS! Unlike my old goldwing sbach.. It is built up wood with foam underneath instead of lexan all the way through. This is a great method as lexan canopy hatches melt in the sun and then do not fit well..

Only blemish I saw was a spot of clearcoat run on the cowl.. I can live with that..

Got the gear on.. Gear includes those nice scal fiberglass cuffs that look so well.. I use goop or black RTV to secure them..
The tailwheel is similar to others with the exception the tiller rod includes a collar in the event it should vibrate loose. Nice touch..

My RARC pilot looks good in the canopy.. The canopy is also tinted A+

fuse is a roller chassis now

So far I am thinking this is the best value out there!! 900.00 dollars for a quality 100-120cc 3d plane :)

Got some more stuff done....

painted the engine box and firewall with hammered silver..
I opened the cutout for canister tunnels with a soldering iron and added some of the TDRC functional cooling louvers..

Elevator and rudder control horns done.. The elevator horns are phelolic composite and they need to be cut off .5" or so to fit...
Nothing of any trouble as most arf manufacturers give a "one size fits all"

the rudder pull pull wire and ball links are already installed! A true lazy mans build..

The plane includes a nice template for drilling most all common engines... Got the firewall drilled.. I measured and may need 1" or so in standoff length..
Should have an EME 120 mounted tonight:banana:

I HATE installing hinges on these big planes.

For sure.. It's not hard to do just time consuming.. Plus they dont make glue stains as bad as I do :) We all just wanna go fly.. I'm all in for PNP giant scale..

Ok guys..
I got the eme 120 mounted... Cowl is cut (mind the fiberglass dust on the cowl in the photo)

Drilled the holes for the cowl mounts.. Always use masking take and a marker and holes came out perfect..

This could be RTF tomorrow except I'm waiting on a few savox servos to come in..:)
