Speak up and win!! We're turning ONE, time to celebrate!!

Favorite thing- the fact this site exists! I'm able to search, research, buy, sell, discuss, and learn from/with others with like interests. Least favorite thing - Nothing to complain about on the site's behalf. Request - Find ways to be able to celebrate a 25th anniversary.

    What Happened here?

My 1st solo had reversed ailerons. I didn't listen to the guys at the club that told me they were reversed. I listen NOW!. My maiden w/a heli taught me a RTF bird doesn't ACTUALLY mean ready to fly. That was another time I called myself "Dumbass".

    Fun while she lasted

My heart goes out to you. Well your enjoyment was short-lived to be sure. I had similar experience recently on a maiden. It was a really nice unusual model I'm sure you were proud of. Any plans on another?

    Helis!

I started w/planks in 1998, put the build on hold for 10 years. Got into helis four years ago. I'm hooked on them. I got a couple good deals on 2 Hirobo Shuttles. Converted them to electric and learned to fly the hard way. I bought a Trex 550E recently. I have to finish setting it up and plan on...

Giant Scale RC Why do this? Seriously??

For me, it's a form of satisfaction I'd otherwise won't receive. First of all there's the challenge of putting something together PROPERLY. I say that because of the mistake I made on my last plane that ruined the airframe on the maiden flight. Secondly, the enjoyment I get when I fly my models...

How big before multiple servos on a control?

Well the weather Saturday was really nice. But I didn't get a chance to do a thing on my Bird Dog. I do use lipo batteries. Typically, a 2s, 2200mah. Do you think I need a larger amp rated battery to handle the servos.

How big before multiple servos on a control?

Thanks for the input. I do feel comfortable w/the servos I have. I need to get a regulator to operate them on 6v now. I've been busy a work, I plan on doing something w/the plane this weekend. Temp to be in the 70's too. Yippee!

How big before multiple servos on a control?

Thanks for your comments. They're the Hitec HS-645MG, non digital, (4) for elevator/ailerons And presently my bec is set for 5v I believe. That would be the lower torque level, 106.9 oz/in. I also have the digital version of the HS-645, the HS-5645MG. It is rated 143.03 oz-in at 4.8V, 164.2...

How big before multiple servos on a control?

Thanks Bipeguy03, and Wacobipe That really helps me out. Unfortunately the servos in my 1/4 scale L-19 which has a 52cc on it only has servos rated Torque: 106.93 oz/in at 4.8V and 133.31 oz/in at 6.0V. Considering all the info and opinions I've read on this thread I may reconsider my choice I...

How big before multiple servos on a control?

Since no one has mentioned it, I assume there isn't a calculator available for sizing servos. I've used motor and prop calculators online. I understand the variables mentioned in this thread, but w/o knowing the force needed to handle the forces imposed on the servos, should a new guy (like...

    Ohio Giant

Good day GS members! I by chance came across this site. Since I need to network w/minds alike, looks like this is a good place to do that. My current project is the old Carl Goldberg MIG 27. I was given 2 models in January. I plan on a maiden flight Easter weekend weather permitting. Ohio...
