The firewall was drilled for 10-32 tee nuts. Need to cut a relief on the nosewheel bearing block since the bottom tee nuts interfere. Started working on the cooling ducts.- TonyHallo

Stood the fuselage on the tail to set the engine location. Made a disc on the lathe to help centering the engine. Once happy the spacers were tack glued to the firewall with thin CA. Had a hard time getting my big head above to look at the fit up.- TonyHallo

yes to both but to bond the tube to a former you wrap it with masking tape and then glue to the tape. The tubes are teflon so the action is super smooth.- TonyHallo

I would not use a 4-40 rod for the elevator linkage without having it inside a semi-close fitting tube. With that said I built a 30CC size Staggerwing ARF that came with 4-40 rods with tubes installed in the fuselage, came out tail heavy so I replaced the steel tube and tube with these carbon...- TonyHallo

The wing on the Champ has the same cord as the Cub, I used #0 screws. They appear to be much smaller than the ones in the photo you posted. The 00-90 would be the right size for the dash and other parts inside the cabin.- TonyHallo

Time to move onto the engine. Milled these spacers on 2 degree angle, drilled and put the radius on the end in the mill. Tomorrow will stand the plane on the tail and center the engine in the cowl and finish mounting. Plan to baffle the cylinders to the firewall and make a chamber behind...- TonyHallo

I would think you would use tweezers to start the nut and go from there. At .046" diameter that would work out to .0138 full scale or #6 screw, can't image where # 6 screws would be used other than the dash? When the wheels were installed there was noticeable camber in the wheel, I was hoping that the wheel pant would hide but no such luck. Work continues on the gear. Decided to make the gear 1" higher than show on the plan. The plan show a G38 for power that would swing an 18" prop, I plan to use a 25" x 10" on the 85FS. No problem, it was time for some mill work anyway. Working on the main gear struts. The struts are angled outward 3 degrees off the vertical and I wanted the wheel pants to look right. Have the fuselage jigged level on the bench. Center drilled 1/2" hardwood dowel for 1/4" and epoxied these into the 1/2" holes in side if the fuselage for the wing locating pins.
