    74" Edge 540

How about the Hacker A60-5s on 8s swinging a 20x10 or 21x10 Xoar? I think I may have made my decision! ;) I like robj's concept of taking it easy on the gear, in addition, I think that sticking with 8s will be easier than having a separate set of batteries for my 74" and the 60" birds I fly...

Are you happy with the 3D performance on this setup?

So its looking like the 6s Hacker setup is winning according to my take of the discussion. (also cause' their 15% off right now) Does anyone know what kind of amps are being drawn with Joe's setup? Can I get by on the Ice 100 (This may be the reason to stay 8s)? Gary: On your 5320-300 on 8s are...

    74" Edge 540

So, with so many options on the table. Which is, hands down, the best setup for 3D? I don't care about speed at all. I would like to stay Motrolfly, but if Hacker is the way to get the job done than so be it. My limit is within the Ice 100 (I don't want to trade or buy new) and I have an option...

If you don't mind, what is your amp draw for each of these props. Is it under 100 amps?

Hey Rob I just pulled this data off of Subsonic Planes Website. I would assume that it could be taken for face value? DM5320-330 3D Planes up to 13 lbs. Sport Planes up to 18 lbs. 6s Lipo 2300 W 8s Lipo 2800 W 19x10 to 20x10 on 6s 18x8 to 19x8 on 8s Maybe the winding would need to be...

What do you think about switching between 8s and 6s on a single bird (if you owned both batteries)?

How many years have you been in the hobby?

This is my favorite advice so far! I especially love the part about "screaming LOWER no matter how low they get." I will be trying this on my Dad next flying session!

    74" Edge 540

Thanks for your post. I am interested in this because I have both types of batteries in my quiver. I am in the process of selling my Trex 550 and am debating about keeping the 6s batteries or selling them. If I could use the 6s without to much trouble, I thought that might be better than buying...

    74" Edge 540

Ok, so going with the 5320-300 on 8s should be fine on my ICE 100... Do you guys think that if I wanted to run both 8s and 6s and switch props between, the Ice 100 on the 330kv would be better, or is this a dumb idea altogether?

    74" Edge 540

Hey Moose! I understand that prop sizes make a difference in determining amp draw, I guess I was just looking for more of a generalization based on Subsonic Planes motor list. On the website (http://www.subsonicplanes.com/Motrolfly_Motors.html ) they have listed both 6s and 8s prop options for...

    74" Edge 540

Doing a little reading today, I am trying to determine if the Castle ICE 100 will be enough for the Motrolfly 5320-300? It seems that some folks say that on 6s this motor can really pull some amps? I have the option of running 6s or 8s and am thinking with the amp draw I would be better on 8s...

I assume you are referring to the Tacon motor in this instance? Do you still have the Edge airframe? Based on your experience would you go with this airframe again or would you choose a different airframe of this class? Thanks (Sorry for bombarding you with all of these question!)

    74" Edge 540

Thanks for your reply Gary! I am a Motrolfly fan, so I have been thinking hard about what to do for my future airframe. Which of the 5320's did you choose Kv wise? If you don't mind why did you make this choice?

Outside of the battery issue how is the Motrolfly on this plane? Would you (or anyone else) recommend it over the suggested Hacker motors for this airplane?

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

Thanks you guys! This is the exact discussion I looking for. I currently own a DLE-20 and have been looking for a future application for it, according to what you're all saying, the Velox seems like the right fit! It'll be a while, but I think that all of my reservations are now squashed. Like I...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

Thanks quad. I did see that. djmoose: I seen the one or two pounds, and this is why I was asking. It is so surprising to me that the Slick being 1" wider can weigh so much more. Do you folks agree that the DLE-20 would be plenty o' power for the Velox then?

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

GYRO: This question is out of nowhere, but I am wondering if you have experienced the DLE-20 on any 3DHS airframe? I thought I read somewhere that you had a 68" Velox with the '20'? Anyone: I was looking at the 70" Velox as an option for my DLE-20. However, the DLE-30 is recommended for the...
