Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

Bushwacker, when you get the standoffs made, can you let me know the length? I'm not even close to being done but it would be nice to know the size.

    The High speed Rolling Circle

Jase is just absolutely ridiculous. Those rifle rolls he does should not be humanly possible, and to do it while steering the plane around!

    esc for 70" extra

Wow, not keeping up, I thought it was an ESC for you 70 Slick with the 4330 motor..... my bad.

Bushwacker, yes, the spinners from Esprit come in all sizes. I tried an Extreme Flight spinner, but they have a thick backing plate that would not allow me enough room for the prop nut. If Ken has the new long shafts available, get the EF, they are top quality.

    esc for 70" extra

ZTW Gecko's are great but have been known to have trouble with Motrofly motors. Trust me I lost my new EF 60" Yak a couple months ago due to the motor timing completely giving up. I had a Gecko 150a HV in my 71 Extra with the MF 4330 but it had horribly slow throttle response, so I replaced it...

Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

I'm using these spinners from Esprit model. http://www.espritmodel.com/ty-nylon-spinners.aspx They are inexpensive and light weight, plus the backing plate is thin enough that I can get the prop nut on.

Wonderful motors. Bushwacker my only problem with them is the prop shaft is too short to run a XOAR prop with spinner. I found a spinner with a thin backing plate that allowed me to get the nut 90% of the way on and it has held up for of a year or 3D flying. I've been in contact with Ken about...

Edge540 Hybrid 55" Rainy Day with Santiago Perez!

Pete, sure thing. And I also want to say, yes this plane can do it all, snaps, tumbles, pop-tops, blenders, it carries it's momentum and energy very well, just like a balsa plane. I've just recently discovered it does the most beautiful waterfalls ever, so easy, barely even needs rudder...

Edge540 Hybrid 55" Rainy Day with Santiago Perez!

syzyguy I'm running 2700 6S with a 200g motor, I think that might be the sweet spot. I'm not sure I'd like it to be much heavier. My buddy is running a lightweight 4S setup, I've flown it and for me it's definitely too light, especially if there is much wind. Your signature says you fly at 7000...

Haha, bling should be seen, if the bling is on the wing bottom it won't be seen much. There will be bling on when the canopy hatch is removed though, I've got a couple of rudder arms lying around :)

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

6172crew, the 48 Extra flies really, really well. I've had the 41 Edge and I'd say the 48 Extra EPP hybrid flies better, its certainly more stable, flies KE much better and is easier to hover. For me the only way to go with these small planes is hybrid, they are more convenient more durable and...

    DM-4325 motor.

Well we do know that ZTW and some of the MF motors don't communicate well. I had to remove the Gecko from my plane due to VERY sluggish throttle response with the MF 4330. It's my understanding though, that ZTW has updated the firmware so they work correctly now. You might try updating the ZTW.

Mine is getting the Mezon 160 Lite, there is a significant difference in weight between the lite and regular. I have one of each. I think we are all aiming to keep this 70 as light as possible.

Thanks Enterprise, I just ordered one for the elevator which is the only one I'd be concerned about the Dubro's stripping.

Unless I'm missing something that site has screws and nuts and some threaded rod. The ball links that come with the Slick are 2mm, which means to use typical aluminum long arms new control rods/ball links would be required. I'd be using long arms on my Slick if the hardware were 3mm.

Aerobeez 70″ Slick PRO Step By Step Build Guide

Bling will be difficult given that the hardware is 2mm, the AL long arms are 3mm. You'll have to change out the control rods and links. You can add some bling to the rudder though, just get the Secraft pull/pull tensioner and an AL double rudder arm, the Secraft tensioner ball links are 3mm...

Edge540 Hybrid 55" Rainy Day with Santiago Perez!

14x7 Xoar wood prop. Performs really well but I can't help but thinking a 15x7 would be better, I just don't think the Hengli motor will handle it well.
