Nice, Nice, Nice. Love the new scheme. Just wondering if you have any pics to share of the rebuild. Always nice to pick up some of the tricks of the trade. How do you like the 3e gyro, I have one installed on my Extra 300, but it wont fly until this spring / summer.

The metal bed is an IGNITION MOUNTING BED. I got mine from Thunderbolt RC and it's made by Seacraft.

I then attach Velcro strips to the top side and the mating (fuzzy) side to the back of the battery pack. This holds the battery in place extremely well but for added security I also add a Velcro strap around the Bed and Battery for more security.

I finished my ski's for this plane. I'm heading to Arnprior on the 10th to fly with some new friends.

I used a new landing gear from my Beast as it was taller than the one I used for the wheels. This gives me extra ground clearance in case the snow is deep.

The ski's are made from aluminum and I bought them ages ago, not sure who made them.

A technique I learned in the past is to put a steel fishing leader on each end so that they cannot pivot excessively and make turning difficult. I'm using a small spring on each side to absorb the shock and I added an extra leader to act as a safety stopper.

BALANCE CHECK

The airplane is now ready to fly with Manne out in Arnprior on Thursday February 11.

The CG is 1/16" of an inch forward of the location that Pilot recommends for this plane. It should be an easy Re-maiden at this location. I was lucky to not have to add any lead and only had to move the starter motor LiPo battery back by a couple of inches.

The Cubic Loading for the plane is 8.95. For aerobatic airplanes they suggest 9 to 12, so this plane should float reasonably well.

Great work. Hard to imagine flying in enough snow to need skis but it will be 63F here tomorrow............
