Scrapped a foamie because it was worn out... I had a second one just like the first new in the box. Spent a lot of extra time making the wires look all nice and neat... Took it out to the park I fly at, got distracted by one of my kids, turned around to launch the plane only to launch it straight into a tree... Before I knew it the motor tore the whole front of the plane off.

Went to maiden a little park flyer at the local school yard. Flew great no problems, come in to land and figure I'd land on the blacktop... Watching the plane come in, watching it and all of a sudden the wing sheers off... Clipped the basketball pole..

I was flying my Trex 450 at the park, getting close to the end of the battery and some kids come by and want to know how high how fast... I get carried away showing off and fly through my timer thinking I can go another 30 seconds... Nope! Instead of auto-ing in from altitude I decide to try to fly it down... Mistake #2... No rotor speed and no altitude = heli-death... The kids liked that too.. Cost me some blades, main shaft, and a boom..

Man and this can still happen because you have to know which radio company has it set which way.. JR is + Futaba is -...

I built a Midwest Little CAP 232 with a Saito 90. I had a hard time flying the model for the first few flights as it was the first model using expo. I couldn't understand why it was so sensitive. Changed to negative numbers, what a sweet airplane after that.

And I did! I got all the way down to about half an inch below ground level. LOL
As Lou Brock, a St Louis Cardinal's player used to say about stealing bases, "If you don't get pick off once in awhile your not getting a big enough lead".;)

Forgotten wing tubes and when remembered, stepped on and disabled. My dumbest day is yet to come I'm sure.

Buddy of mine reminded me of another one that WE pulled.

At the Celina giant scale event last year, we got asked to fly in the noon demo for 3D/Aerobatics. Which we gladly accepted, he pulled out his 43% PAU Edge 540, and I got out my PAU Ultimate and got them ready to fly.

Flew the demo with no issues, But I did notice there was just something off with my plane. After the demo was over, I popped the hatch off my Ultimate to discover I had forgot to plug in one of the RX batts, so my funny feeling was getting some blow back in the controls.

My friend, then ensues razzing me about how dumb that was and how close I came to possibly losing my plane as he is popping the canopy off his Edge, only to stop razzing me instantly...

He had forgot to plug in one of his RX batts as well!!!!

So now when we fly together, we check each others planes ;)

Was letting a friend @wecoyote fly a pretty fast wing I have. It will do around 80mph. Told him to make a low high speed pass. I wasn't convinced that he had gotten low enough and said and I quote "Come on Tom you can get lower than that".
I do that to people all the time. But not when they are flying one of my planes.
