    Welcome!

painting ON covering?

Wow you have quite the setup! How does your spray booth perform? How do you escape particles and such? Looks like it works great!

I actually bought a squirrel cage fan that had the motor outside of the air flow. I should have bought two because I made the booth just for airbrushing and then my planes got bigger. I just CNC cut and hammered the booth together in an afternoon and painted it white. I'll take some pics sometime. I stand cardboard around it just to kinda focus the fumes to get sucked out. I also have radiant heat (no exposed pilot light or flame) and concrete floors so after a few hours the floor is warm enough to maintain room temp (I do most of my painting in Winter / Spring). When I clear I have the fan going and also open a window with a fan blowing out. Works well, pretty low tech.

I've been using a booth with airfilters for intake and exhaust, and I'm still getting particles in my clear from time to time. How does the finish come out with your clear process?

I had filters on it, but I had better luck when I took the filters off. I paint in a wood shop and spraying clear creates static so that is my nemesis. I can usually clear a whole plane with just a few specs is all. Still makes ya angry though doesn't it!!!

Oh I loose my mind with particles. But I've gotten pretty close. Hopefully if all goes well before the end of the year, I'll be building my new spray booth off the side of the garage, will be a down draft floor with a 12x8 spraying area. The rest will be a mixing/work bench. I'm excited to be able to have an area for spraying only.
