Finally got around to calling AMA to ask about my original AMA number from when I was 15, back around 1983. Just got an email and good old AMA #127870 has been dug up and reassigned back to me! I had a membership lapse back in my twenties so the old number was lost to a new one but they were happy to help make it right! Thanks AMA!

Wow, lots of members since then. I got mine in 2006 when I got my first foam RTF foam super cub that I promptly deposited in the neighbors pine tree across the street:( 866830 at your service.

I found out the problem though, I unplugged the stupid self correcting and leveling BS they had on it and I was golden from there out. Same with my BNF Nextstar, only trainer I ever had which quickly got converted to a taildragger with a .60 engine:devil-dance:. Good grief, now I know how I got my user name.

One of the guys in my old clubs AMA number was something like 147. He raced Quickies so his number was on his airplane all the time. Back then mine was 6 digits long starting with the 1674 it is now. I used to see his and think, "wow, he's been at it a while".

He ran the local hobby shop that he opened in 1947. He was a ball turret gunner in a B17 in WWII. Cool old guy that could make anything go fast.
