TPG has a new thermal flying field located in Encinitas on top of a closed landfill. For reasons I cannot explain, I always fly like garbage there:dancing-poop:
That site was probably not there in 82~83 when I flew power between Encinitas and San Marcos: the Palomar RC Flyers had site off of Rancho Santa Fe Rd. I flew with Jim Meister there, before moving North to Orange County where I started slope flying at Kite Hill.
Now I feel really old!:(

I love slope soaring. Been flying Zagi's on slopes since the 90's. What got me started was when I got into paragliding, a lot of the guys had Zagi's and after getting one I was hooked. Great fun and the windier the better. Combat with multiple flying wingson a slope or mountain is so much fun. When its to windy to fly planes, you know like 40mph+, I head for the mountains.
