HEY!..GET OUTTA MY TREE!
Hey Kevin....really looking nice! Your Teflon tape wrap prodded me into sharing an experiment I did last year with that stuff. I was tired of having to re-wrap the joints several times a season, even with the "hi-temp" Teflon. After another wrap I cut an aluminum beverage can apart and put that around the Teflon....then secured it with a couple of good wraps with more Teflon, making sure I overlapped the ends well.

It held up fine all last season on my piped DA150 and although discolored, still hasn't shown any signs of burn thru.

While you've still got everything exposed, you might want to try it.

Hmm I will give that a shot! I will probably fly her this weekend as is and look into that for next week. Generally on a new plane I will put a few flights on her then open the cowl to check everything. Thanks for the tip!

I learned about the shrink wrap on the tips of the snake skin on the servo wires yesterday. Learn something everyday lol!

Either the standard white Teflon or the yellow hi-temp stuff. Both seem to last a long time with the aluminum can wrap underneath.

Well the front end is about done. Only thing left to do is the elevator and rudder servo setup and then find out where to mount the batteries and BEC.
