Busy alway, I’m now at 12 employees. Every evening seems to slip away with late afternoon/evening work. Family duties. I flew the hell out my 35% Yak on Sunday. Someone talked my into trying knife edge loops and I spent most of Sunday afternoon working on the loops then trying to do a double loop.

I’m somewhat limited with evening work as Polytak and MEK fumes are NOT tolerated by the wife. I don’t know how even 10 minutes of fumes work their way upstairs but they do. I might set up a table on the patio and take the plane outside soon.

Yes that is the problem with the Stits system and the main reason I used Stewards System on the Champ. My wife was a little disappointed when see saw the Dexter Morgan cut room going up. I had it up for a couple of weeks when I painted the Super Cub Fuselage.

Oh well, I squeezed in a few minutes tonight. Trimmed around the port side windows, trimmed around the door opening. Opened up the doors to vent the fumes.

What are you using for the tapes? Polytac? Per the video brush Polybrush down then set the tape in the wet bed and stipple the Polybrush up into the tape with the brush. Never tried Polytac but it works for you well then good.

This is the way I’ve always done it…Link to Poly-Fiber video on finishing tapes HERE

Another good reference if you don’t already have it is the Poly-Fiber Manual HERE

I do it similar, I omit the first coat of brushed on PolyBrush. Then spray on the fill coats of PolyBrush. The use of PolyBrush allows for heat smoothing the taped areas, I would image PolyTac can be heat smoothed as well, don't know. I get better results using parchment between the iron and taped area when heat smoothing.
