Yes that’s the plan for it to be an electric glider. I have found at least currently I’m not good enough with a 1M to keep it in the air long (they just blow through lift so quick). Yes thinking of doing NACA ducts on it just gotta figure out how to draw them.

here are some pictures of the printed test part. Needless to say I’m very happy with the fit. Also check out the size difference between a KST X08 and X06.

Nice, love it when a design works after all that work. My 1m MiniDart V1 was the same way, just blew through the lift. You could find it, but couldn't stay in it. My 1.5m Flitz2 stays in it. My flying buddy has a 1m Deviant and it's pretty impressive for a 1m. He also has the Hawk but it's a much quicker ship than the deviant.

Did you see that KST came out with a V6 of the X08? The motor is encased now.

Yes I saw that about a week ago. I wish they would have done that a couple months ago when I had ordered some of them. These X06's have the encased motor and its nice not having to worry about the motor wires.

Finished repairing the 84” TBM. Floats are in the dumpster though. I didn’t have any gray ultracote laying around so I used silver. Not bad! I’ll need to order up some floats.

Thanks guys! It truly is a wonderful plane to have in the fleet. It's a fabulous float plane too. I do not like how stiff the landing gear is and have been pondering re-making a few things to giving it some more spring. Half the fun is greasing landings, but when it skips and squeaks on rough terrain... just drives me bonkers. Been thinking for quite some time to make a SUPERSTOL style gear for it.

Also... somebody beat me... been thinking about getting the 120" TBM... Would love a huge floater like that.

Looks good. Sad you have to replace the floats especially with the cost of new ones. I want one of the TBM's so bad but I don't want an electric setup that big.

Yeah, the price increase is no joke. Most expensive floats I have ever owned... But they perform great! I could have repaired the floats, but it would have taken so much time with the busted/rotted ply on the inside I decided it wasn't worth the effort and have other projects I'd rather work on. I'm running 6S 5000 packs in my 84" TBM, If I wanted to go electric with a 120" it would be two of the same packs in series... but I would go crazy with the short flight times. With the TBM on wheels I think the lighter 3700 packs are a bit better. There has been some talk about getting a 30-40cc TBM on r c g but the cost would be that of a 70cc monoplane. So I dont know if thats a wise choice. I really need to figure out if the 120" TBM can fit in my truck bed... Also curious if they will make it a plus version ever with the new wing locks.
