need to draw up bulkheads and formers for the belly. both of my vintage autocad copies are inop and the Solidworks version I have access to is like reinventing the greek language so it will be a while before i can go there. currently downloading a 30 day free trial of autocad and then it'll be back to work on this. there's gotta be a recess in the belly for the pipe otherwise I'd be roughing out curves with a french curve so let's see if I can get anything done today and maybe we'll have a firewall and some formers in place tonight.

@BalsaDust i think it was you that tackled Solidworks, kudos to you!

Havent messed with solidworks just AutoCAD but will be putting either Fusion360 or Inventor on my work laptop soon to start learning the 3D modeling stuff.

Had changed my avatar to be the Titan’s logo. They made a valiant effort in the playoffs and came up short.
As Tony said, “Back to Airplanes” which explains the new avatar.

Good idea. I'll change mine back.

IF any of your kiddos are in college you can use their student email to get the student version for free. That's what I still use.

Worked out the bulkheads and got them made. There is a 50/50 chance this thing is either going to be way nose heavy but we’re moving down the tracks so no turning back now. Have to match drill the fuselage sides befor sheeting the second one and then on to assembly.

wondering what you guys would do along the sides. the 1/16" mahogany plywood lines the inside of the fuselage sides from the firewall back to the trailing edge of the wing. i lined the outside of one fuselage side with 1/16" balsa all the way back but it didn't turn out that great so I may remove it.

What would you guys do with the outside to stabilize and strengthen the 1/4" truss frame? I'm thinking of using 1/32 ply or 1mm to sheet the outside and then remove most of it with a router run along the truss members. maybe a 1/4" router bit with a 1/2 or 3/4 collar to leave more plywood behind.

The RCG guy just put a couple of strips down the sides of the fuselage, I suppose I could do that too. Thoughts?
