Well impatient about getting the 3/8 sleeves so decided to try and make two 3/8 diameter sleeves as @BalsaDust has suggested for the stabilizer that will be my project for the day and start prepping the wood and the drawing to start work on the elevator.

Got a start on the elevator cutting up a bunch of balsa blocks down to the sizes required to build the stabilizer and elevators and working off to one side on the 3/8 ID sleeves.

Hey all been away a while been busy with work and weather has been horrible here. I finally got the Edge to the field. I ended up venting the fuse I just went with a simple vent, I know the center is off a bit lol. The trim flight and maiden went well. I'm excited about this plane it flys great. Here are a couple quick videos of the the flight. No fancy flying the motor is still getting broken in and I'm not that great of a pilot lol!!!

I'm not a regular on GSN lately but do look in every once in a while. Title of the thread intrigued me so I thought I'd add to it.

I'm working on a scratch built 1/3 scale Austro Hungarian Albatros D-III. It's in the finishing stages. I'm scratch building off of pictures a 200 hp Austro Daimler engine for it. A kit is not available to my knowledge.

Last night I built the Exhaust stacks for the Engine.
Nice! Glad to have you stop by now and then.

Neat little bird. If and when I pile up my 20cc profile I might pick up one of these.

Trying to make fiberglass sleeves. Well I can tell you cutting cloth and trying to wrap it around a tube is not the way to go it un ravels faster than you can work with it. So I have started to do it with mat cloth very fine. It is working a lot better and easier will let you you see what I end up with later to day. Also the second thing I found out was that Saran Wrap is not the way to go. I ended up using wax paper it is much easier to wrap around the tube tighter and wrinkle free.

Hi there this is the Aeroplus you were just building on GSN a little while back. Good to see it in the air and looks like you are pleased with it that’s great if may ask what was your final weight of the plane came in at. As you know I have the same plane flew it last season it was great but over the winter did a little rework on it made it a little lighter will see how it works out and see if the work was worth it.
