@stangflyer and anyone else, here is my experience painting the parts for my viper with Wings West RC paint. I didn't get the aerosol cans from them, just the bottles of 2k primer and paint. I did get the aerosol 2k clear from them. I used the accuspray gun from 3M to paint everything. I didn't have any problems at all which I am very happy about. This was my first time using this type of paint.
I sprayed the first coat of primer, and as usual there were some pin holes to take care of. I was really surprised at how few were on the cowl, but the wheel pants were a different story. There was a gob of them to take care of. Got all those filled, sanded down, and then sprayed another good coat of primer on. Another good sand job with 400 grit paper and it was ready for paint.
Now for the paint. One thing that needs to be done, is the paint needs to be shaken up REALLY good. Then masked off for the first color of white. Poured the paint in and started spraying. One thing to note is that if there is something not quite right with your surface after you have primed it, it will show up when you hit it with paint. There were a few spots that showed up on mine, but it is fine with me if it is not quite perfect (after all when it is 50' in the air you won't notice
). I sprayed 2 coats on. Than it was just repeat masking and spraying for each color. The colors all matched really well. I am now ready to spray clear. So far I am very pleased with the results. This just about wraps up the Viper build
